Statement game for the Lions here. A team that hasn't won a Thanksgiving game since 2003 and hasn't won there division since 1993. For once they have a very legit chance to do both. With the Packers reeling and the Bears playing like crap, the Lions feel this is there division to lose now. Lions will be as fired up as can be. Everyone knows how bad the Packers secondary is, Stafford will put up monster numbers. On the other side, no team in the NFL has been better against the rush the past 3 weeks. Since Detroit's bye week, they have given up 104 rushing yards on 53 carries to Laveon Bell, Matt Forte, and Bobby Rainey. 1.96 YPC. Eddie Lacy will have very little running lanes to run through leaving many 3rd and longs for Flynn. If you want to put your money on Flynn having to carry his whole team on his back with very little support from his RB or his defense than go ahead. I see a blowout looming.

couldnt agree with u more LeagueCapper..every angle u mention i feel the same way and love the lions as my fav play in nfl this week coming off a loss to tampa at hm when they should of won if not for the turnover by megatron on the 5 yard line with 40 secs left..getting alot of value on the line this week with the home team..GL and happy thanksgiving..

GL Cap I really like Detroit this week as well. Flynn is simply not good and those who back the pack this week may find that out the hard way!

Not to mention GB played an entire extra quarter on Sunday.

Think Lions win but this has last second Matt Stafford all over it. Last week the villian, this week the hero. I'm thinking Matt Flynn has a good game and we have ourselves a back and forth..

I think either Lions in Overtime, Last second TD or last second field goal. For me. No play...

i love detroit in this spot too but ur stat about det rushing defense is a little scary. you pointed out that they have held three rbs since their bye week to a total of 104 yds, which is an awesome stat. but when you look those rbs and their teams... they are all at the bottom of the list as far as rushing offenses go. i also believe lacy is way better than rainey or bell, and might be better than forte considering forte is beaten up. anyway like i said i love det here, just hoping they really can completely shut down the run and force flynn to attempt to beat them

Nice to see many books ''protecting themselves'' by moving the line to -7. Only public money wont normally do that 

The Packers had an inspired effort on Sunday to tie the Vikings.  The Vikings?  Packers have so many things going for them.  Rodgers out.  Injuries all over the place.  Overtime game on Sunday.  Short week on the road.  This is a great opportunity for the Lions to roll on Thanksgiving Day.  But knowing the Lions they will probably find a way to screw things up again. 

I didn't take the Packers as a dog this week but I say Lions win 27 to 24.

Should say the Packers have so many things going against them. 

Riceboi mentioned the OT angle so I ran it through a database and came up with the following numbers:

Teams that played an OT game and then play on Thursday are ATS 3-17 and SUP 5-15. An interesting angle which points to Detroit especially when you consider the Packers went the full 15 minutes.

With all the Detroit talk about their past record and their swoon last 2 weeks its inevitable that 6-7 will attract many GB backers but...................................

NATE BURLESON AND MEGAMAN are due. I look for these guys to have a field day tomorrow and while Flynn will air it out as well, The Black cloud which is the GB secondary will be EXPOSED YET AGAIN. No way in HELL they can cover these 2 guys.

1 or the other has a big day and look for REGGIE to get in on the action.Everybody is down on DETROIT and they are where they've never been in long time 1st place.

Like all the angles pointing to a Det win. Their last 2 performances have dropped this line in their favor. Had they not been a turnover machine in the last 2 games the line would have been -9 to -10 IMO...good spot for Lions backers.
