Here are some of the reasons why it's hard to fix games and how I hv used the games I hv lost to build my database and understand the game within the game.

I believe in evidence. I believe in not coming to a conclusion about something until a deep examination has been made. There's absolutely no reason to believe the NFL is rigging / fixing games. There's zero evidence for it. Furthermore, to do so on a scale that most people seem to believe, would require a massive cover-up, involving thousands and thousands of different individuals. And none of this data has ever been leaked? Ever? Seriously? That's far, FAR harder to believe than a player who, say, fumbled a ball at a crucial point in a game, or dropped a pass he should have caught, etc. Many NFL players wouldn't stand for it. They love the game. Many have been playing it their most of their lives. And now they have to drop a pass because they are told to. Most would say, "Screw that." You don't need to fix or rig a game. Football, at every level, whether it's Pop Warner, High School, College, or Pro, is exciting enough. It's built into the game.

The irony? I'm not making a claim at all. I'm rejecting the claim that the NFL is rigged. There's a difference. I bear no burden of proof.

 Hi Ed - nice seeing you on here.   Agree completely.    As you know i collect a lot of data, and if folks collected the data, sorted it, they would find, in the NFL, CFB, CBB, NBA and MLB, there are patterns in the data.   It's a matter of collecting, organizing and discovering what repeats and basing your decisions on it.   

Until you delve into the numbers, I mean really put the time in - it's an easy excuse to say something is fixed.

Have I seen a play periodically, where i thought a coach was hell bent on covering the spread - of course.   East Carolina and Sfla 2016 I beleive when Taggert was coach of Sfla, they wouldn't stop scoring even though there were only a few secs. left and they were winning (it seemed personal - but you scratch your head and move on).

I've studied enough data to know it's not fixed.  There's patterns in the data that repeat.  The key is finding the patterns - which is not instantaneously, goes back to the definition of statistics, collecting, organizing, etc etc.

you bear much burden of proof also. youre making tons of claims yourself. all are assumptions. you assume such would take thousands and thousands of people, Ive heard tons of people making that exact same statement when discussing anything they dont understand.

People on here just refuse to believe sports are rigged.. No matter how much proof there is, they will stay denying it.. Quite a few ex NFL players have came out and said it was rigged but no one cares, they still deny it or say they have CTE or say they say that stuff to try to be relevant again... The real reason no one says a word is cuz they sign NDA's... That is why they get paid so much money.. No one deserves to be making 20 mill a year to play a sport..

It's not rigged yet Patriots are guaranteed t win the 2nd hal and it will be a 1 score game with new england with the ball at the end... Totally not possible to be rigged though
