Starting with something nice and simple this year...
Bengals -4
Lots of people thinking the Bengals are going to be a playoff team this year, and I'm inclined to agree. However, this pick is more of a pick against Denver than for Cincinatti. Even with Orton (which they likely won't have), this is a team in shambles. New Coach, on the road, with a team that traded away it's franchise quarterback = ATS loss.
Still looking at some others...
Best of luck this season

You are getting the worst #.....if you liked em you should of got them at +3......line is now bengals -4.5
I agree the number is not ideal. That being said Denver is an auto-fade team until they can prove otherwise. Really don't think this one's going to be that close.

Bills offense was atrocious this pre-season (take that for what it's worth). I for one, choose to fade them until proven otherwise for this reason. The Pats offense, on the other hand, should be its usual explosive self. They have concerns on the D (with a few key vets now gone) but again, the Bills were so bad I don't see this being an issue. Opening on Monday Night should have the NE crowd roaring.

Really like whats going on down in Houston. If MS can stay healthy these guys will challenge for the division. Home opener against a rookie QB => win, in my humble opinion. And with the Jets missing some key components on defense this week, the Texans' high-powered offense should be able to move up and down the field relatively easily.

This is a huge number for them to cover, I know. But taking into consideration N.O.'s high-powered offense and adding in Matt Stafford starting his first real NFL game against an improved Saints D to that, I'm happy to lay the wood here. The Lions have no defensive weapons to stop New Orleans, and Calvin Johnson would have been better off having Culpepper throw him the rock. Stafford's going to get better, but not that quick with this shotty Lions team.

...I think the Broncos will win this game outright, for as much as you might despise the Broncos too much has been made of their preseason.
Yes they do have a bad quarterback and defense but they still have a great offensive line and the ability to run the ball. Marshall will most likely be playing making him the most explosive player in the matchup.
Everyone is so will to lay points with one of the consistently worst teams in the NFL...not me, not no way, not no how.
Broncos +4.5 for me.

Appreciate your insight JT.
For me it comes down to how are the Broncos going to consistently move the ball in this match-up. Offensive line aside, the Bengals could easily stack the box and make which-ever QB Denver has going Sunday beat them. My money is on them not being able to do so. I just don't see them keeping up offensively with Palmer and that receiving corps on the road.
GL with your plays

Denver will be one of the worst 5 teams in the NFL this year while the much improved Bengals will compete for a wildcard
Palmer is back and Henry/Benson look ready for a breakout year. Now that they have a good defense (top 15 easily, im predicting top 10 this year) so they should make quick work of denver
Im thinking something like 24-9

What is amazing to me is that bad as Detroit was last year they did cover 7 times against the number.
imagine that - a winless team covering almost 50 percent
They have covered as a double digit dog very well.
11-2 as a dog over 8 pts
The Saints, who are clearly better, are not the greatest cover team especially with such high wood. this game seem to easy
Detroit plays in a dome and they are sure to be up for this game after last years debacle. They will be playing with a very Big Chip on their shoulders and they have a lot to prove
And lastly, even the bad teams play well early as everyone has hope and optimism at this time.
example. The Lions are 5-1 ATS in week 1
Like the other plays!!

I have to agree with mc843 on this game.

MC -- agreed it's a huge number, but it's also a rookie QB on the road...making his first real start...for just a terrible team
6Pack -- Denver should be thankful their division is so horrid. Their only wins are coming to teams like KC and Oakland.
Island
Gold_Rush -- I'm aware of the trend, but that Lions team had experience at the QB position that allowed them to stay within manageable distances of opponents. Stafford is going to make his fair share of mistakes before he gets better and I think NO will make him pay.
