Houston comes into this game off of a big win against the Colts on the road. A game where they needed to win to control their own destiny in the AFC South. They started backup QB TJ Yates and he tore his acl opening the door for Brandon Weedon who amazingly played fairly well leading the Texans to a big come from behind W. They were able to do so by playing lights out defense in the second half, Alfred Blue ran for over 100 yards and Weedon made enough plays to lead the Texans to a W.
Tennessee comes into this game just playing for pride at the moment. Mariota was hurt last week and Mettenberger stepped in and did an admirable job despite the two ints. He led the team to two touchdown drives and looked pretty comfortable. Defensively the Titans weren't able to stop Tom Brady and company as expected.
Today what I see happening is the following Brandon Weedon has been a bust everywhere he has been. Yes last week he had a decent game however the Colts are inept at getting to the QB. The Titans are actually 2nd in the NFL in adj sack rate. Weedon will not have the time he had last week to throw the ball and you can expect him to make plenty of mistakes. On the other side of the ball yes the Texans have been tough on D but I believe the Titans will be able to make enough plays to really have a chance to win this game. I trust Mettenberger over Weedon being that he has been with the team for several years and that he knows the offense inside out. The Titans are playing for pride and today is their super bowl trying to knock out division foe the Texans out of the playoffs. I truly believe Tennessee will win this game outright and therefore I will be in the Titans plus the points.
