This. Bruised ribs can suck, especially when you have to do a throwing motion. It's a bad enough injury to conceivably keep a guy out/ affect his play but an NFL team has many resources at their disposal to get a guy ready.

Played qb in highscool. My senior year I had a permanent outline of the ride side of my ribcage via bruising. It sucked. I took 4 advil before every game.
