Not spot on.  How in the hell can you say that If Favre was black he would be T.O.?  What has T.O. done?  Favre is a record setting QB with a RING.  T.O isn't a top 10 all time receiver, however Favre is a top 5 all-time QB.  I don't see any correlation here.  To say the Jets and Packers think he was a poison pill is a bit much.  He wasn't making "TO like" headlines when on those teams, especially the coaches telling the press this...

How would the Jets feel considering when they had him, a crap team all of a sudden was 8-3 when he was there (not hurt) and 8-3 just beating the best team in the league on the road.

. Anybody who cuts down Dan Marino for not winning a superbowl is a COMPLETE NUT. The guy was marvelous in the 4th quarter and brought the Fins MANY VICTORIES. It was not his fault that they never provided a good defense or solid RB for Marino in his prime. Marino also went up against the greatest QB of all time IMO in his solo appearance. Don't fault him for losing to Montana.

i always hated the dolphins, but marino is probably the best qb i've seen.  although watching manning live is pretty amazing.

8-10 in the playoffs isn't too good.  He was a good qb, just not one of the best.

I'll say that Marino didn't always have a good defense, but I think the running game was partly his fault because he would rather pass on 3rd and 2 than run.  It's not just a coicidence that a scrub name Abul Jabbar was a 1000 yard rusher when they did hand off.

If Favre was colored that girl that has pictures of his sclong wouldn't be "laughing amongst friends" about them.

We also should give kelly his due, 4 superbowl appearances in a row and loses to very very good football teams. He also got them in position for a fg to win....a loss is a loss but sometimes the ball just doesn't fall for you.

The Broncos totally changed the way they played offense and Elway ended up with two superbowls, it is a team sport.

They are saying manning is one of the greatest ever and in his one superbowl run, he had 3 tds and 7 intercepetions....it is a team sport and you need help from your team. The New England defense has given brady a lot of help. 

Elway didn't win till his team played better.

 

I love it when people try to bring up the whole "he didn't help Rodgers his rookie season" routine.

First of all, it is not his job.  Secondly, and most importantly, what people don't bring up is that Rodgers was pretty much hated by everybody on the Packer team his rookie season because he came in with a Dez Bryant type of cocky attitude, disrespecting all the veterans.  So it was not only Favre who was staying away from Rodgers in 2005, but pretty much the whole team.

Good topic, and yeah, if Favre were black, the slant on this whole charade (and that's exactly what it is) would be vastly different than it presently is.

Let's face it, the sports world is not filled with intelligent people.  In fact, the industry itself (media included) couldn't be more dummied down than it is. 

Therefore, the idiots do the easy thing and resort to silly, invalid cliches to make comments.  For example from basketball, "yeah, this kid (black) has got raw athletic talent, tremendous leaping ability, excellent one on one moves.  But then this kid (white) is a poor man's overachiever, smart, heady player, kind of kid you want on the line when the game is in the balance."  You get the same sort of asinine comments all the time.  Why?  Cause it's easy for the dipsh-t announcer.

Other inane comments:

"crafty left-hander" and "possession receiver." 

Tedious, tiresome and nauseating.  Precisely why the TV is usually mute when a game is on.
