If you like Eagles over Skins, what line do you play ?

Redskins are so dysfunctional they cannot even provide satisfactory medical services to Pro-Bowl-caliber left tackle....Eagles pass rush should eat whatever Redskins QB for lunch.....

Anyway, if you like Eagles in this game as I do, how to bet it ?

My online sports book offers a nice sliding scale as many books do now.....so....what to select ?

Laying -9 or 9 1/2 is a laying 2 scores in week 1.......hmmmn don't like that.....

Moneyline ML is about Eagles -430 or so.....THAT is a heavy dose of Kool-Aid juice, especially in week one.

Just about right seems to be Eagles -6.5 -175.......any thoughts on this ?

My book currently has Eagles - 7.5 -140, and doesn't offer Eagles -7 at all.  Eagles -4 -250 and Eagles -3 -315 and Eagles -2 1/2 -350 are also available.

To me, Eagles -2 1/2 line is still too much juice at -350. Eagles -3 -315 is a nice defense number is to be on -3 for the push. Eagles -7 nice defensive push number not available to me.

Eagles -6.5 -175 seems just about optimal. --175 is a little juicy, but this keeps it a one-score number to cover. Eagles -6 is not available to me at my book.

Any thoughts ?

Yes. Why the hell would you lay -315 at -3. Fuc**ng tease it with another team. +6 points a side.

If I could not find a tease play, I would either go for ( -4 ) play or the ( -2.5 ). The ( -4 ) play takes care of the Eagles winning by 6 or more, and the ( -2.5 ) play takes care of the Eagles winning by 3. I think the Eagles are going to blowout the Redskins.

I agree that laying -3 -315 is not the best move here.....even the moneyline at -430 or whatever would be better overall value......

Based on the choices you outlined, I would lay the 9.5.

Please see my thread Bet These Teams NOW, Not in September. You could have had the Eagles -8 and/or teased them down to 2.

Adding Eagles ML parlay to every bet. You'd be surprised how many people are on Redskins ML.

Let's not forget the Eagles don't like Carson Wentz. I wouldn't bet my life on the Eagles being good

That just isn't true. 
With one of the better offensive lines in the league and an offense loaded with weapons, the Eagles should be in line for a minimum 10/11 wins. I have them winning 12 this year.

If you've waited this long to put your bet in, I would tread lightly. The line has climbed higher and it's not a sure thing. Division games are usually closer than non-division games, and the Redskins have a good defense with two of the top assistant coaches in the league on their defensive and offensive lines.

You are correct about the Redskins defense having at least SOMETHING......

I wonder how long it might take the Eagles offense to click ?

With good reason, the Eagles didn't play Wentz at all in pre-season with multiple knockout injuries to their QB's occurring........

So, yes indeed Wentz is fully healthy.....live game play....well, new RB's from Bears and second-round draft pick should help.......

Jackson back -- Can Jackson break free for a long TD bomb ? Eagles DO have quite the receiver corps now ----

Eagles OL is arguably the best in the NFL -- for sure in the top 3 OL's anyway non-debatable --

Valid point on coaching, although even great coaching with have a hard time replacing missing Pro Bowl left tackle ---

Cox and new additions are likely gonna pin back their ears and really get knockout pass rush....

Redskins MIGHT score few points in this game...

Could be a blowout....BUT....

It is a division game, and sometimes weird things can happen, and Wentz hasn't played a down in live game play yet just now......

Well, I ended up making NO PLAYS AT ALL on this game....many things about this game were unexpected......

Back-door cover by the Redskins on the normal pointspread.......

One point to be considered in this type of situation :

Which point-spread to take in a game like this one is VERY relevant......why ?

Well, in this game there were various swings, and in the full-game lines, only SOME of the point spreads won.

So, as I was asking in my original post from it seems like a long time ago......

Which line was the best to take going into this game ?

This was still not clear to me at game-time, so I made this game NO ACTION NO BET.

Glad I sat this one out.

I think it is very good advice to "tread lightly" when one feels so unsure about which pointspread and price might cover and be worth the risk/price.

I felt a lot of uncertainly about which one a week ago, and at game-time too.

And sure the moneyline at what was eventually something like -500 DID eventually win....BUT

...at very high risk of loss of a bundle of cash.....

I feel that being more able to make a less-risky point-spread/price wager is a better option, so, sitting this one out, overall, was my best move.

Sure, certain plays COULD have won with 20-20 hindsight -- but, going in at gametime, I this NO ACTION was my best bet....

So many games are available, I feel it is better to pass when one feels this degree of uncertainty.

My concern I expressed pre-game about Wentz not having played a down in pre-season due to injury risk concerns were indeed valid !

Took some time for the Eagles offense rust to wear off.

Again, sitting out was better overall for me.
