anything you learn in life is an education- consider you paid 1000 dollars to learn that you , yes you, specifically maybe should not gamble. Someone else will pass on that education- if you chaulk it up as a school tuition to learn first hand about what it feels like to be down a lot- take that to the bank. A year from today, if you never bet again- your up in ways guys dream about. Just stop.
I'm sure if Billy Walters took your advice he would not be a gambling legend today.

taking a break always helped me...college football yesterday was unreal. Almost every logical play did not pan out except Alabama first half -3. sometimes it makes me want to cap a game, imagine the absolute most logical outcome based on the stats, and then simply bet the opposite!!!

I'm also down for the day and losing out juice for the year. Load up on the under for the 2nd half of the ne/cinn game.
Whatever the line is, I don't care. take the under. NFL has the mercy rule where if the 1st half is a blow out, the second half, winning team will stop playing and kill the clock to win the game in a sportmanlike conduct. Unless they allow the hungry losing team to give us a ha

You are exactly right, yesterday was horrible. And I know what you mean about wanting to take the opposite of what you really think will win the game bc all the games you know should and will win, just don't....and it hurts a little worse when it happens for a couple or few weeks in a row. But it happens...it's part of gambling.
And Hugo, good luck to you...really no safe answer to your question....you can balls up and try to make your money back on a bet...which may or may not be a wise decision. Obviously if you hit the bet then it was the wise choice. If you don't hit the bet, then you will feel like more of a dumbazz and be even more in debt. We all been there man, well any one who has gambled long enough. The best advice I (or most will tell you) can give you is to not bet what you can't afford to lose. If you only have a couple of grand to your name, then I would not bet at all, unless you have steady income from a job or whatever, bringing in money....and then go small. Just bc so and so is betting this, or my rich friend w/ the loaded parents is betting this many hundred a game....whatever, don't matter.....go low, if you HAVE to bet, then bet 5 bucks a game with a 50 dollar max per week. You can still have a little fun....but when you fk up, it's not going to 'bury' you.
good luck man....

RF1 I added you bro, thanks everyone for the advice.
JP13 I know it might sound stupid right now but betting is actually how I made a living all throughout high school, I've only worked a part time job over holiday periods for my entire life. I wanna get the swings under control now so i can try and make it a steady income as opposed to boom or bust

Made a living through high school ? I don't know your situation back then, but when you live w/ your parents under a free roof, there's really no living needed to be made.
Trust us, there is no easy system to become a professional gambler and make a true living off of it. If there was all of us degenerates on here would be doing it...
Like a few others have already stated, a grand or so is not going to be the end of the world. When it really starts to sting is when you get hit for 7-8 grand for a couple of weeks in a row. Or getting hit so hard you're taking $ out on credit cards @ 23.99% to pay the booky. Been there, done all that, know the feeling.
Hopefully you took those Pats last night and broke even or close some how.

I was going to say that, honestly, in the whole scheme of things, 1K is not that much money. I would render a guess that many people, even on this thread, have lost well into the 5 digit range.
Tilt is difficult. It is really a mental issue that is tough to overcome. I don't think anyone is immune from it, but with experience, you learn that even if you "go on tilt" perhaps instead of throwing down another $500 on something, you only place a $100 wager.
