Injuries dont mean sh*t in NFL.. Heres why

it's always easy to grade games AFTER the fact, but when players are injured in the NFL you cant cap that to your advantage. In fact my father told me, " when pros get hurt, PROS replace them". People put waaaay too much stock into injuries. In the NFL, the team that limps into the game knows that they have to play a near perfect game to win, and thats why you saw NYG come in and look crispy regardless of who they were missing. Also, when a backup QB starts for a pro team, keep a close eye on them as well. This is not a "theory" just something to put in your bag of handicapping tricks. This DOES NOT apply to college ball. I agree.  The main exception is the QB position, if there is no capable backup.  Every other position can be replaced.  

The other exception is if a lot of guys at the same position get hurt.  If you lose 7 O Linemen to injury, you will be in trouble.

Makes sense but you cant ignore injuries...a lot of times injuries will cause mismatches and teams will capitalize.

I agree with you guys, this applies to certain games. Shit, if Rodgers goes down for GB I'm not saying to pound the Packers (although a perfect example of this theory came two years ago when the Packers went into NE on mon night with Matt Flynn and barely lost).

Just like every other trend, stat, etc...  It all has to be treated on a individual basis.  You cant just say injuries are always this or always that.  Every individual game must be capped on a individual basis.  Last night for instance the Giants lost players that are in the media a lot and the line over compensated being they had capable backups.  This is not always the case.  Take my Lions we dont have a secondary to begin with so when we lose Houston and Delmas we look really bad and I am not sure Vegas accounts for them because they are no names to the average junky.  In this instance it works the opposite of last night.

Make no mistake, injuries are key, but THE RIGHT INJURIES.
Turns out, Bradshaw is at the end of the RB line, most fantasy players already knew this.
Also, Hicks was a big loss but Manning made the kid look good and he responded. Think of how this game goes if the WR drops a few balls?
Injuries are key but in this particular game, Giants had the answers.

My most successful betting strategy involves a key injury, no one else seems to care about but hits at a very nice rate.

What's the point of the thread?   It went from 'injuries don't mean shit' to 'injuries sometimes and sometimes doesn't mean shit'.

   Yea, that's real good info. 

Ok, here's some other stupid ones:

1.  Home team always wins

2.  Fave always wins

3.  Better athletic team always wins

4.  Better QB always wins

5.  Better defense always wins.

Oh did I tell you, DOESN'T APPLY TO ALL GAMES.

Injuries at RB and WR are not big deals to me. However QB and any O-Line injuries I pay more attention to.
