If anyone is in the talks for MVP, it should be Joe Burrow with that offensive line. Granted, he has Higgins and Chase but he is making this team work.

Lamar Jackson just surpassed Michael Vick's rushing record for a quarterback. Here are their post-season stats:
Mike Vick: 2-3 SU, 5 TD's, 4 INT's, 56.0 completion percentage.
Lamar Jackson: 2-4 SU, 6 TD's, 6 INT's, 57.4 completion percentage.
One thing he will never be is Super Bowl MVP.

lamar is 100x better passer. It’s not even remotely close.
And what was Peyton Mannings playoff stats early on?
It’s amazing how I mention regular season nfl mvp. And people start automatically saying “yeah but he will never win a superbowl.” Lmaoooo. He lives rent free. WHEN he does win a Super Bowl, what will you do to yourself?

The problem is what does MVP mean? What metric are you measuring the candidates by?
Just because your the best player doesn't mean your the best team.
Just because your the best team doesn't mean you win the superbowl.
Plenty of 1 seeds have failed to win superbowls. Some have failed to win the championship round.

Nowhere even close to comparable. Curry was already a great shooter and everyone knew that. Nobody said he couldn’t play they just said he’s too skinny, which I’m sure back then he would agree.
Nobody in sports history was more doubted and disrespected from a talent evaluation standpoint than Lamar Jackson…. In sports history.

Amazing athlete, prob one of the best athletes to play the game so far.
MVP is an award that is based on perception and hypotheticals and where the bottom line changes annually:
1. Stats- do the best overall stats matter most? Advanced stats? Team record? What exactly is the defining measure?
2. hypotheticals - what if he was on another team? Would he still be performing at the same level? What if someone else was in his position? Would they perform even better? Lots of scenarios that didn’t happen always seem to factor in somehow
3. bottom line - is for the best player OVERALL? Or the best player on the best team? Or is for a player that isn’t the best but is the glue that holds a team together? Does PAST performance matter? Or does only this years matter? This changes every year it seems based on who’s the perceived front runner..

bias, projected self hate, envy. for a guy who many said would never be anything as a starting qb because he can't throw and that he should change positions well he's the first player in NFL history to have 5 games with a passer rating above 140 in a single season. his 121.6 qb rating this year is the 2nd highest of all time behind only aaron rodgers' 122.5. the critic's projection of him will go down as the absolute worst for any athlete in history. kids not even born yet will read his stats and watch his highlights and wonder what the idiot experts were thinking.

MVP is nothing more than a popularity contest. He will still be the same old Lamar in the postseason.

We'll update his numbers after the season is over.

Where exactly did I mention Josh Allen? Josh Allen hasn’t accomplished shit either.

If we are going by stats, then Lamar should win his 3rd MVP. He is better than Allen in every statistical category. And Lamar smoked Allen 38-10.
But I’m considering Lamar added Henry. Allen lost Diggs. And this year was the two high safety year and Allen excelled because of it. And Lamar has won it twice already so let’s just give it to Allen so Lamar can get this Lombardi.
