Any team that is down in regulation and ties the game with zero left on the clock, should be kicking off in OT.
You don’t reward them with back to back offensive possessions. Get f’d nfl.
What a crippling loss for Tampa my god.

Really shouldn't even have gone to OT. The missed facemask on the holding call during Tampa's drive should've been offsetting. Oh well. Still was an entertaining game

Tampa Bay got to call the toss! Lost that too! That's how the cookie crumbles! Also, all they gotta do is hold them to a FG, and would at least get a chance to tie or win! Their defense blows!

The Bucs just played defense late in the 4th qtr and then they are force to play defense again in OT. Huge advantage for ATL. ATL got the ball in OT because of a luck of the draw. Yes, the coin flip is 100% based on luck. There is no strategy on if you should call heads or tail. It is pure luck if you do win the coin flip. The OT rule is bogus. the Bucs never got a chance to touch the ball. Yeah, the Bucs should have prevented ATL from scoring a TD, but that is beside the point. The point is BOTH teams should get equal possessions in OT. Just wait until this happens in the playoffs or the Super Bowl, they will change the OT rules for sure.

You follow the basic rules of football. You score? You kick off next , period.

This was the ball game. If Tampa kicks a field goal there it’s over for the spread bettors. At best ATL wins by 1. Betting on this sport has gotten to be nearly impossible because of nfl officiating. They change the outcome of almost every game with bad calls and missed calls. Tampa was the right side in this game and it showed for all 4 quarters. Officials decided the game.

Hot take. Good luck having that terrible idea catch on. I mean stop a touchdown and you get a chance to possess the ball. They have made it about as fair as they can compared to the old sudden death way.
The real problem was that terrible series by bucs after the int. Literally could have done nothing and then kicked a field goal to be up 6.

It reminded me alot of the Rams and lions game a few weeks back where they threw the Rams defense on the back to back and Detroit just ran it down their throats to win it in overtime. They should just go to the college ruled in ot

Been this way for the longest or EVER! Lets keep NFL as close to the way it was as we can, or this sport will start to really look like the WWF.
With that said I was on the Bucs, and this OT thing only came up because they got scored on, but if you really watched the game, Cousins was ripping that Bucs a new hole more than half the time he had the ball

It definitely won't happen in the playoffs because the rule already is that both teams get a possession even if the 1st one scores a TD!
Maybe they'll adopt this to the regular season as well at some point since so far this year, the 2 primetime OT games off the top of my head...This one and Detroit winning by 6 over LAR on a walkoff Montgomery TD, were one sided OTs

The more money they spend on these players with ridiculous contracts in a contact sport, the more WWF it will become. If you were a owner, do you want to give some QB 250 million dollars and allow 300 pound men to T off on him from his blindside? Hell no you wouldnt so you create new rules to protect the player as he is now like a stock...an investment and they want a return on it.
The glory days of grid iron football are never coming back. High scoring is what a fan base plagued with an attention span of a few seconds wants.

Its to a point where they just need a belt with 2 flags.

well it is part of OT discussion. They will not change rules like college because its too many plays per player for one game. It goes back to the amount of money they are giving these people and wanting a return on investment. Its no different than starting pitchers having their pitch count counted
