In my humble opinion the entire game hinges on Warner. The only possible chance that Arizona has of winning this game is if Warner has an excellent game. On the other hand, Rothlisberger can have an average day and the Steelers can still win. Warner will have to play his best game of the year to win this game. He will also have to play his best game of the year against the best defense in the NFL. The question is this; How probable is it that Warner will have his best game facing the best D in the league?
I am not saying he cannot do it. I am saying that the odds are greatly against it. I can't see the Steelers not covering this game.
Sorry Zona fans...the Cinderella story ends today.

Kasper, I do not doubt the veteran QB. But you cannot overlook the Veteran D that he will be facing.... The second key to this game will be if James can run on the Steeler D. If he can't, it is going to be extremely tough sledding for the Cards

Masterminda and Serious dope, you could very well both be correct. However, for that to happen Warner is going to have to be perfect and James is going to have to carry it 20-25 times for over a hundred. Do you think both of those happen? I will add that if somehow the Steelers were to get behind early by a couple of TD's it could be a real problem for the black and gold. Personally, I don't see that happening. I see the Steeler D scoring 2 TD's on their own.

Warner has to be good but not perfect. Pitt's offense is not that great and this is the best offense that the Pitt D has faced and they are hot and have had two weeks to prepare. It's up to the AZ game plan. They might not be able to run, but they can design plays like quick screens and hitch passes to simulate the running game.
I think it is the AZ defense that will determine the outcome. Can they hold up or even force a turnover or two. Ben is capable of coughing it up or forcing it up. The AZ defense has looked good at times, but if Pitt gets them on their heels like they were in the 2nd quarter against Atlanta or in the 3rd quarter against Philly, then AZ is in trouble and Warner would have to outscore Pitt.
The team with the most momentum coming in usually wins the Super Bowl. I think that is AZ. Pitt was sometimes erratic down the stretch. Even NE at 18-0 coming in had struggled in their playoff games against Jax and SD. Giants were on a roll. AZ is on a roll.

Barnstorm, solid points man, however, this ain't Atlanta, and I am a Falcon fan for over 30 years. I think this Steeler D wins the game. I am old school in that great D wins it. I agree with your point that Zona has to have some great D and in my opinion, they just don't have it. I think the physicality of this game takes it's toll on the Zona O-line and the Steelers have a huge second half.

Not trying to be an ass here, but did anybody at the halfway point of this season even remotely think that the Cards would be here? I give them huge props for making it to this game and Wisenhunt has earned major respect, but i just don't think this Arizona team is quite "there" yet. Unless the Steelers have a complete meltdown, this should be another ring for the black and gold.

no what you mean, respect Warner but don't see him having a big game. Pitt is to strong, if they jam the recievers at the line of scrimmage. It should disrupt Ar. passing just enough for Pitt to come after Warner.

I concur Warner will need to have a great game to cover or win it, where Rothlisberger can have average game.
Steeler D #1 is great and deserves credit, Chargers scored 24 and Ravens scored 14 points against this unit in the playoffs, Cards #1 offense in the playoffs can score the min 14 or over 24 points against this unit.
Cards D has been playing well in the playoffs counting on them to slow down the Steelers offense which can score points.
Not a Cards fan, just on the wager.
That's why we are opposite, you can't see the Cards scoring very many points and I do. We'll see how the ball bounces soon.
BOL !

I can see the Cards having the ability to score... they have playmakers. I see a Steeler D that takes them out of their rythym disrupts their game plan and causes turnovers. Ya can't score if ya don't have the ball...... I see Warner being rushed into quick throws, I see Warner taking a few "late hits".
BOL to you
