of how hard work and determination beats stupidity with better talent. if you really watch these games and want to understand them beyond the "tebow sucks" or "tebow is jesus" level, you can see how stupid decisions change games.
the jets lost that game for three reasons, all of which relate to horrible decisions
1) terrible clock management wasting a timeout in the first half to prevent a delay of game penalty befroe their field goal and then a terribly managed last drive before the half ending with that ridiculous pass by sanchez,
2) instead of checking to another receiver or throwing the ball always, sanchez throws to a completely covered plaxico and gives denver an easy touchdown
3) jets coaches calling a blitz on the tebow td run allowing tebow to easily run around the end and score. this was the worst call of all. tebow can't complete a pass to save his life, the receivers are bad and can't get open, you have very good corners. everyone watching the game knows tebow is going to run the ball. it's incomprehensible that the jets would call a blitz there.
and with that, you have a perfect formula for a jets loss.

People get so caught up in the hype of a player that they fail to see the big picture. Its good to know not everyone is an idiot with their heads up their asses on this forum.

I couldn't agree more on all accounts

mistakes 1 & 2 cost the jets the cover. mistake 3 cost the jets the game.
vegas, we agree all the time (when you're not being difficult).
bills, i have no idea what many of the people in this forum and most of the announcers are watching much of the time. of course, it's easy for the rest of us to ignore all of the nonsense, but the trick is figuring out how the important factors will affect the game ahead of time.

I will say it was more than just the blitz on the last drive, the whole last drive is incomprehensible from the Jets side. Tebow showed all game he can't throw the ball and hit a receiver. So what do the Jets do? They don't try at all to keep Tebow in the pocket and keep their lanes and instead give him running lanes to do what he does best. Tebow should've been given zero opportunity to run, yet he had huge holes time after time on that drive. Rex Ryan should be taken to task, especially considering he's supposedly some defensive mastermind.

i guess it was the culmination of all that incompetence that really got to me on that last play when the left side of the defense just collapsed into that blitz and tebow easily ran around and scored. the jets couldn't have called a worse defense for tebow on that last drive.
but you're right jack, it was more than that one play. i don't get it. tebow isn't on the same planet as vick as a runner. the jets easily could have contained him on the last drive. they did it all game. why they changed their plan and completely lost their minds on that last drive, i'll never know. people in new york understand football. i have to think ryan and/or the DC are getting killed today by people who understand the game.

You tell us dirty. Rex would have taken Denver from their 5 with 2:30 left 4th quarter and a lead vs Jesus any day of the week.
He completed 3 or 4 passes during the drive when they didn't blitz moron. It's called 6-3 235 running QB. Find one. Can't. Its easy to say shit now. That is why they play the game.
What is really lost in all this menagerie is the Denver defense.
Jets defense and fat ass rex ryan shitting themselves in the last 2:30 minutes is the only formula I see.
Maybe now the Jets can get on the "Suck for Luck" bandwagon.

are you trying to tell us the jets should have blitzed to try and contain the amazing tebow passing game? their regular defense couldn't stop the denver passing attack all of the sudden??
nevermind, please don't answer that. this thread is really for people who have a basic understanding of football. as you know, that excludes you.

That is Fox vs the moron and pretty much every day of the week Fox would out-coach Ryan.
they need to implement more screens, 2 step drops, quick outs and slants to get this guy's confidence up. anyone watching tebow has to understand this can't last and will end in complete disaster unless they bring tebow along the right way to at last give him a real chance.

The element of surprise didn't help with that blitz obviously as Tebow read it and took off. Sure that was a bad call by their d-coordinator. The very same one that Mike Mayock was praising so highly of.
Hard work, dedication, team chemistry,............it's all there. Now if only Tebow can get his passing game into decent form.

for instance, you'll see some ravens games where flacco throws to ray rice out of the back field and short crossing patterns to possession receivers all game. tampa did the same thing against indy if you made the mistake of watching that game like i did. there is a way to try and make tebow a serviceable qb without just letting him throw downfield or running the georgia tech offense.

I think you'll see more of that once the league catches up to the triple option offense. I think a whole new offseason should be predicated to that. In the meantime, Tebow has been relatively thrown into the fire with this past offseason contractual disagreements. Next season's progression or lack there of will determine Tim's fate in the NFL imo.

i hope so for his sake. time is running out on the tebow experiment and if it crashes and burns, i wonder if he'll ever be taken seriously. the guy obviously has some talent and can be useful. but they are about to start playing some real teams in the next 4-5 weeks. i hope they take the extra few days to get a legitimate offensive plan together.

The sad part is when Denver fails, the myopic haters will turn against Tebow, not realizing how little talent he has surrounding him. Such is the plight of all quarterbacks. A case can be made for that in the sense of why Denver has taken on this option attack style of football - ball control, limiting turnovers, and giving their attacking defense the needed rest knowing that they'll be called upon to keep the game close.
We'll see how the rest of this season plays out. As a diehard Bronco fan, I'm just looking forward to next season when Tebow will have an actual full offseason with his coaches and practices to improve.

well, fox went to the super bowl with delhomme so hopefully he can change the offense around to better suit tebow and give the guy a real chance. i'm sire von miller would love to play with a decent lead one of these days.

Yes kickinA everone seems to forget he started the season as a 3rd string QB they were 1-4 now 5-5 yes he looks bad at times but he keeps them in close games he will get better
also did you see the pregame show with John Elway you being a bronco fan might know this Elways stats for his first 7 games were worse he was 2-5 less completions than Tebow less passing yards less passing % more pics and less TD's and we know what Elway did with the rest of his career

Absolutely. The only big difference is obviously that Elway had a gun for an arm and a double threat. Also similarly he had very few talents on offense as well. No offense line whatsoever and his receiving corps, until the Three Amigos was relatively weak as well with Steve Watson and Rick Upchurch. And yet that went like 9-7 and finished second behalf the eventual SB champion Raiders that year. Of course whether or not this year's Denver squad finishes in similar fashion is irrelevent, but the similarities are there.

I think the O.C of Jets gotta go or the offensive play calls must change. As an offense, they seem to have no idea at all of how to attack the opponent's weakness. On the other side of the ball defense does a good job of limiting points allowed. But I believe that being on the field so much and seeing your offense stinking it up, defense may be tired and not play up to par. In addition, the defensive calls are really questionable.
