Honestly there just are not that many good coachs in the NFL anymore. I don't know why but there just isn't. Perhaps it is because you really cannot coach these players in the NFL much anymore because they know it all, who really knows. But I will put out my top five coachs and my bottom five coachs. Let me know what you think.
TOP FIVE:
5. Jeff Fischer, TEN - there have been many times the past couple of years that he has made some real positive game changing calls on offense and defense. That is more than I can say about most NFL coachs.
4. Sean Payton, NO - normally a good offensive play caller and the defense has improved each year. I will give him his due. You cannot win a Superbowl if you are not a good coach.
3. Rex Ryan, NYJ - he has really impressed me the past couple of years. Yeah I think he is a loud mouth and annoying but not only is he a good players coach but also seems to understand the Xs and Os (at least defensively). Truely a "Big Tuna" throwback.
2. Bill Belichick, NE - cheater or not he makes good adjustments (normally) and usually will out coach anyone.
1. Tom Coughlin, NYG - as much as it pains me (I hate NYG) he is a hell of a coach and always gets the most of his players. He is the reason I still believe that some players are still coachable. Not many players leave his team without being better. I really wish he was my Viking head coach.
BOTTOM FIVE:
5. Norv Turner, SD - still uncertain how this man still has a job. I don't know how many times he is going to piss away a damn good team. His play calling is not inventive and makes little to no second half adjustments.
4. Andy Reid, PHI - if it wasn't for this clown PHI would have at least one Superbowl championship under the McNabb era.
3. Jack DelRio, JAX - he has been all promise and no delivery in his tenure in JAX. Loved him as a LB for my Vikes but good God is he a bad at making in game adjustments, perhaps next to the next two the absolutely worst.
2. Wade Philips, DAL - I know he is a great Xs and Os when it comes to defenses, that is fine move him back to the defense and away from managing the game where clearly he doesn't fit. He often looks clueless. DAL is the most self-destructing team I have ever seen and that is due to its coach.
1. Brad Childress, MIN - none come worst! I honestly believe he will go down in history as the worst coach in Vikings history. By far worst than Jerry Burns. Honestly just his voice or his dumba$$ look makes me want to destroy things. I cannot stand this guy!
Okay I gave my two cents... how about you?
