If White is a go and finally the BYU kid is firmly the backup Lions are a beauty at home in the dome but We have seen this picture before with Goff on the road and under pressure in "weather" vs an excellent defensive unit. Hot public road doggie. Would like a firmer weather report on Friday morning besides cold if there is an wet stuff or heavy winds then Jets are a full go.

It took a few trick plays to beat the Vikings who has one of the worst defense in the league. Jets injuries are the determining factor. Williams in or out will decide a play or not. I like the Lions as a team- but this is a MAJOR step up in class for them-
I will balance the hubris here with a few simple thoughts first.
Football outsiders has the Lions as the 7th best offensive line.
Jets are 7-6, and the second best QB Rating Defense in the NFL is 78.1. Philly is first at 76.3. The jets have played the hardest schedule in the NFL so far ( Jeff Sagarin, USA today), Eagles 31st, so hard not to argue the Jets have the best defense against the QB in football.
Detroit since 2000 is 0-9 in games where the temperature is less than 40 degrees.
Detroit jared Goff is 1-8 all time versus the AFC East.
Jared Gff has never thrown a TD pass when the game was 32 degrees at kickoff.
Next i will compare most recent common opponent.
A very good reference point is both team most recent common opponent is the Minnesota Vikings:
The jets played the Vikings on the road, The Lions played them at home. Its harder to play on the road.
The jets offense, who i am sure no one would say is even good, put up 486 yards of total offense against the Vikings The Lions put up 464, again at home.
Defense is very interesting. The Jets held the Vikings to 287 Total Yards, and Detroit held them to 416.
Sauce Gardner held JJ to 45 total Yards, Detroit " held" him to n223 yards.
Is Garret Wilson better than Amon ST Brown? of course he is. The Lions play in a division with the worst defenses in the NFL, while the Jets play in the division with the best defenses in the NFL. Their stats are almost identical. Do you like Wilson versus the Lions defense, or St Brown versus Gardner? Gardner has yet to allow a opponent WR over 60 yards this year, and i don't think you would say the JJ wasn't looking forward to burning Garnder, and he came up with 45 yards total.

The Bils, prior to the LIONS game, did not practice for 10 days, had a second road game in 4 days, the second being a 12 game. Their travel schedule was ABYSMAL. The were physically exhausted. and still beat the LIONS . the Jets beat the Bills at home. shut them out seccond half.
Sauce Gardner will shut down anyone on Detroit- He has shut down Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, Stefan Diggs twice, and Tyrek Hill. Seasoned veterans.

the jets defense is on a historic pace defensively. The have allowed 400 yards per game just once all season. less than 300 in 9 of 13. Thats incredible in todays football.
your " improving" Detroit defense has given up 400 yards 5 of the last 7 games.
Jets fans would want their D coordinator fired on that "improvement."
