BackFired......Touchdown Bills
Idk, they threw for 494 and 5 TD and lost (convincingly) I'm ok with this.

It made zero sense. Pin them down and get the ball back. The Lions scored two TD's after this debacle. Imagine if the Lions wouldn't have gift wrapped the Bills with the ball on their own 6-yard line for their final TD because of the onside kick. Maybe Lions win? Who knows. I do know Campbell gave the Lions a zero chance after that decision/move. Plain stupid. There was almost a full quarter left. The odds of getting an onside kick are very slim.

The IQs of these coaches are at an all-time low.
They should be given a 'Football 101' test before being offered any job.
It makes watching the games or being a fan difficult.

I wouldn’t have done it, but the Lions defense lost 3 more starters. The unit is completely ravaged. Lions probably had a better chance at recovering the onside kick than stopping this Bills offense, which is operating at ridiculous consistency.

But we already know this about the guy.
This guy may have been Super Bowl runner up last year if not for his gambling ways. Word had it his wife won’t even let him have a Fan Duel account.

I didn't mind the call. He is working with a defense that only has 5 original starters playing. Three of those fill ins weren't even on the team 2 weeks ago, and one of them wasn't even playing football. He is trying to keep his best unit on the field and that is the reason they are 12-2 because he has managed to make sure his best unit is on the field with either a chance to close the game out or scoring to win the game. Can't argue with the results they just ran into a team and a coach that had the talent to exploit their weakness on defense.

Maybe a different way.
1) we're they stopping the Bills? No.
So does it matter if you start playing defense from the 50, 30, or in this case 2? No.
The Bills were going to score, as were the Lions. So less clock gets killed and less snaps for their ravaged defense and you're still chasing the game.

these hc treat it like their playing madden. how did it work out for staley yep fired these hc think their trying to out smart the other teams . campbell did same thing 4th down from his 30 and it failed. oops we only remember when it works but it fails often.

Even though I'm originally from Detroit (I've lived in Vegas since 1980), I've never been a Lions fan. Don't like the Ford family (Henry Ford was antisemitic and I'm Jewish). William Clay Ford was a drunk and never cared if the team won or lost, as long as the seats filled up and he had drinking money. They deserve a coach who'll make a major blunder. Last year they had a chance to go to the Super Bowl, but Campbell went for 4th instead of kicking a FG and putting the team up 3 scores. Now they've had so many injuries on defense, 21 players on IR or listed as out. 9 Defensive linemen out. Now I'm reading Montgomery could be out for the year. They are a playoff team, but finish at the Bears, and 49ers. Then last game at home vs Vikings. They could lose all 3 and I wouldn't be surprised. Vikings vs the Bears tonight, then at Seahawks, home vs Packers, finish at Lions. They should win the division now.
When Detroit traded Bobby Layne after winning the NFL championship in the 1957 season (he was traded 2 games into the next year) he cursed the Lions by saying "This team will not win for another 50 years". Well it's been 67 years and still going strong. Maybe if the Ford family would sell the team, they'd get the curse removed.
By the way, Layne was traded for Earl Morrall who won a Super Bowl with the undefeated Miami Dolphins.

@sports333700
It actually worked ok because he had his offense which is his best unit on the field to close out the game and that is the strategy. For years we watched Stafford put up 30, 40 points only to watch at the end of the game our defense our weak link was on the field needing a stop that never came teams ran out the clock kick a field goal with no time left and we lose. So I am all in on having your best unit on the field with a chance to win the game and Campbell has done it better than any Detroit coach in my 60+ years of watching them, and this year apparently, he has done it better or as good as any coach in the game or his team wouldn't have the best record in the NFC.

Except Bob Greise was the QB for that Dolphins team. To go along with Csonka, Kick, and Warfield, not to mention Buoniconti.
