Mattress Mack is not Mattress Mack if he played like a sissy. He had to take a side to win the game, not to make money. By his taking Bengals moneyline, he forced the NFL to guarantee Rams victory near the end of the 4th quarter. If Bengals won SU, the entire gambling establishment and NFL would've looked weak. By his action he helped all knowledgeable bettors avoid Bengals ML.

I bet he lost nothing....once all the sales are in for the promo...He offset it with the Rams ML to cover the loss if any should the Bengals have won..But he got free promotion and publicity once again, which is his end game....
Its the very same reason books like Draft Kings/Fanduel etc offer free promo bets... The acquisition cost per player from advertising is way greater than $50 -$100 they potentially lose...

I said already that Mattress Mack has a big ego not to take spread on Bengals. He also has his commercial promotion in mind, too. At the same time sportsbooks cannot let such a large, well publicized ML bet to win. If the amount was something like $500,000, sportsbooks might have let him win. There is no way sportsbooks get whipped by a guy like Mattress Mack. So they had to do something in the fourth quarter for Rams to win by three points. They also knew many bettors bet huge amount of money on the Over the Total, so they ended the game at 43 points in total.

Mattress Mack is a Vegas Agent, when are people gonna realize this... They are going to allow him to bet right at some point... Either he will be right when it is a heavy favorite and everyone is betting on the opposite team or when most of the money is against who he bet on... He sold 20 million dollars worth of merchanise in his promo during the two weeks prior to the Super Bowl.....his cost on a 3,000 dollar sleep system would be less than 1,500.
He at least broke even and probably made money on his promotion, he wins if his bet wins and he makes money on his business if his bet loses...a thought process like that is why he has a net worth of 300 million and ours is slightly less than that.
