why else would he direct people to his picks on other sports forums? 

There are so many obvious signs this guy is a newbie. 
1) you don’t buy points on every single game. In fact, most handicappers don’t buy points at all because the spread rarely comes into play and if they buy points: it means they must not feel confident enough in the play.
2)This weekend there were  15 games and the spread only mattered in two games (Chicago, Arizona). Interestingly enough, when taking a dog it’s better (and obviously more value) taking just the ML and not the points because once again the points rarely play a factor.
