Mike McCarthy is a disaster hire for the Dallas Cowboys, game picks..

no head coach has ever won super Bowls with more than 1 franchise

you do not know for a fact that McCarthy will not be sucessful ,  or that a College Coach is the answer,

this is a very calculated Choice, we all know jerrys Ego is as big as texas, Most all Sports analysis , Talk show host,

had dallas penciled in for the super bowl, thats all you heard was how great they were going to be. And that was the kiss of death!  

Just a very strange hire in my opinion. They say they are looking for a new analytical approach to the game and then they hire one of the good ole boys?

McCarthy couldn't get along with Rodgers what makes them think he will get along with the many personalities on the Cowboys. Including Jerry and son. 

I agree they were better off going for a college coach and starting 'fresh". Time will tell but I don't see them even winning the division next year and any other outcome would be a disappointment.

If I was a Cowboys fan I couldn't be happier based solely on the fact that this hiring has been getting bashed all over the media and here on covers.... reminds me of those "public" or "covers" bloodbath threads.

I remember when Andy Reid was hired by the Chiefs people said the same thing, don't think there was as much hate as this though.  Those who actually had a clue made some good coin off the Chiefs that year...I expect the same with the Cowboys.

Mccarthy has been garbage.  If he would've had any other qb besides Rodgers in Green Bay he would've been coaching high school 10 years ago! Still think Jerry did his homework??? Bahahahaha!! Garrett used to make 6 million a year, and McCarthy used to make more than that with the Packers.

So let's assume McCarthy got a 5 year, 40 million contract.

Jerry Jones has a net worth of 8.5 billion, so he could easily eat this contract but I think he's too prideful to admit he F'ed up after one year.

He's also 78 years old and probably doesn't want to watch a complete chit show any longer than he has to.

My guess is he'll keep McCarthy around at least one more year but would fire DC Mike Nolan and try to pluck an up and coming assistant from a team like the Steelers or Ravens to be the new DC.
