Hey, all good things must come to an end and I have to believe this will be the case tonight as I look for a convincing win by the Patriots tonight. Now just wait before you go to bashing and hear me out. I will definately give New Orleans their props as I have been really impressed by their play this year. I know that the Saints have had 12 different players score a TD this year. I know that the Patriots are 1-6 ATS versus New Orleans the last seven games. I understand the Saints are tough at home and have the number five rushing attack in the league. Yes I think it is hard to overlook that New Orleans has outscored their opponents 188 to 78 in the second half of games this year. WOW! I also find that the Saints have won all of their games this year by atleast 8 points or more. Hard to go against all that and I will be the first to admit that fact. See, I told you I was gonna give them their props and I bet a lot of that info most people never even knew. Believe me, I do my homework. Even after all that, I still have to lean towards the Pats here.
New England is playing great football right now even if there has been a bonehead call or two by their coaching staff as of late. Redemption will be in order tonight as Belichick will be out for blood! The Patriots have allowed the 2nd least amount of points in the NFL this year. They WILL slow down the attack of Brees and the boys tonight. The Saints have found themselves playing against a very dangerous team that is peaking at just the right time. Remember the 2nd half stats for the Saints I threw out earlier? They score all them points in the 2nd half because they have too. They are playing from behind. They wont be able to make up that ground here tonight that way. I also mentioned that number 5 rushing attack from New Orleans. Guess what, they Pats know about that stat too. Pats will be moving it through the air tonight. New Orleans is coming off a big win over a bad team but they have clearly not looked as sharp over the last month as they did early on in the season. It's hard to pass up taking points with the Patriots who've not been underdogs to an NFC team since defeating St Louis 40-22 as 2 point road pups in 2004. Since then they've been favored 19 straight times against the NFC, winning 17 with 1 of the 2 losses being to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. New England improved to 4-1 SU and ATS in its last five games with last week’s 31-14 rout of the Jets, covering as a 10½-point home favorite. The Patriots have scored 27 points or more in their last five games and are averaging 37.2 ppg during this stretch. For the season, New England is putting up 29 points and 416.1 yards per game, which ranks third and second, respectively, in the league. If you like trends, here’s a few for you to consider. In terms of Monday night trends, the underdog has covered five of the last seven games with Tennessee winning outright as a road pup at Houston a week ago. That continued a streak of four consecutive covers for the road team – and five in six weeks – under the Monday lights. Belichick is 8-1 ATS in his head coaching career as an underdog against undefeated teams! That includes a 6-0 ATS mark in away games. Brady is 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS away versus opponents at a winning percentage of .818 or better. The Pats are 25-2 SU in their last 27 games versus NFC teams which includes a 12-0 SU and 11-0-1 ATS streak versus .400 or better teams. Bottom line is that Brady and Belichick have been here before....plenty of times. They know how to win and what it takes to win these types of games. I look for a 5 to 7 point win here by the Patriots and for that I have to back them right or wrong. Good Luck to all that’s with me!!

I agree Natural and I think the injury situation for the New Orleans secondary is going to be an issue with a master like Brady. Should be a turkey shoot for him

mackee.....brother without having a whole lot of time to write about the O/U because I have some things going on at the house right now, I will say that I have the total capped as coming out to 51 points. Sounds crazy I know but that's my outcome. I have NE 28, NO 23. Hope that helps some.

Hi thenatrual74, I like your write up and I like your picks...I am on the other side on this one tonight. NE has lossed to 2 quality opponents on the road this year, they were close games. I also think the total goes over here. I am definitely making a play on NO with maybe a smaller one on the over. GL to you.
