Pats still have cooks/gronk/hogan/white vs. a really really bad defense.
Yes the pats pass defense did poorly vs. the chiefs, but the Chiefs OL vs. the Saints OL (if you saw yesterdays game, you would know which is significantly weaker).
The saints had no running game last night (not saying that they wont again vs. the pats) but their OL is the biggest piece of their offense (in both rushing and passing respectives).
Now thinking about the spread - I still think Pats cover (they have more time to try to fix their own defense plus brady, arguably is not the better QB, but he definitely has the better tools on offense in what i assume will be a high scoring effort by both sides).

The Saints offensive line is missing 2 starters. I believe they can manage until both are back but the offense sucks. The running game was non existent vs the Vikings D. I know Viking have a great defense but AP wasnt even part of the game plan.
On defense the Saints have some decent players. Dennis Allen is an idiot at DC though and left Harris on Diggs all game. Why we didnt put Lattimore or PJ on him is the million dollar question. The safeties played out of position all game. The LB are improved but unless the front 4 start pressuring the QB, this defense is garbage until they get experience. Its the youngest team in the NFC South besides Brees and Cam Jordan.
Everyone will take the Pats Sunday once again and tie them to parlays and teasers. Im not saying Saints win or cover but there wont be many people taking the Saints Sunday and Vegas doesnt give out free money. You cant really gauge a team on week 1 either. I think the Saints will improve at some point this year. Their stock cant be any lower. Good luck.

i just look at it this way, with 2 teams with lousy defenses i would side with the team that has a better offense. They may not cover but i think NE wins this one, I cant see them going 0-2 to start the season

The Saints should be able to run the ball a lot better this week, as the Pats' DL is nowhere near the caliber of the Vikings. And if Hightower is out (their best defensive player), that'll weaken their entire front 7.
I like the Saints depth at running back (Ingram and Kamara mainly) and think they should run more of a high tempo run-based scheme. Can stretch the field with Ginn and Lewis to keep teams honest. Thomas and Fleener down the seams and slants. Ingram and Kamara can catch as well. Their offense should get better, but only if they really commit to a defined scheme.
Biggest problem for the Saints in this game will be their defense of course, especially since the Pats' OL is so good plus Brady has the quick release. The Vikings' OL has been pretty suspect for a while now, but the Saints couldn't get a rush or stop the run after a while. They really got worn down and Dalvin Cook got better as the game progressed. And their zone cover scheme was totally ineffective against Bradford's accuracy. (The wrong scheme to run against traditionally accurate passers.)
And all of that was made worse due to Sean Payton's ridiculous time outs at the end of the 1st Half which cost the Saints a TD. Payton's always been a stubborn and aggressive guy, but I'm not too sure what's going on in his head space these days. Does he want out or not? He's been angry and irritable for years now, and seems to be making some pretty rash decisions without seeming to care about the consequences.

I watch the Saints closely too and am really confused as to what that franchise is doing right now. They don't seem to have a real identity on either side of the ball.
And they should cut Peterson! Can't bounce it to the edge anymore and isn't as good between the tackles as Ingram. So why have him? Just a distraction to involve him in game plan.

I agree we need to cut Peterson. No need for 3 running backs looking for the top position. We'll be fine with Ingram and Kamara. I think AP is about washed up now anyways.
Our secondary looked more exposed than normal with the lack of pressure from our D-line. Harris is terrible and got burnt all game. Not sure if the Vikings rebuilt offensive line (5 new starters which is unheard of) is really that good or our D-line is just that bad. I'm thinking it's a combination of the two. Not taking anything away from Bradford, but we made him look like an all-pro. He had enough time to drop back, grab a snack and complete 20+ yard passes like he was playing playground ball. No Delvin Breaux which last year was arguably our best CB. He couldn't get the proper medical diagnosis therefore didn't get the proper care. He was about to get traded when the discovery was made from a second opinion he got from another NFL team doctor he had existing issues that were not corrected in a previous surgery. Hence the reason why they let 2 of the Saints team doctors go about a month ago.
Brees had absolutely no time to throw the ball and Strief going down and being out over the next few weeks won't help matters either. And no Armstead at LT. God help Brees' blind side. We're missing Willie Snead as well which is a top target for Brees in the passing game. He's out another 2 weeks I believe on suspension. Honestly, I think it's time for Payton and Loomis to hit the road - it's about that time.
The one bright spot is our special teams, mainly our punter and kicker :) Morestead is consistent with his punting and pinning teams deep when he can and Lutz has been extremely consistent as well.
All that being said, I think this game will be closer than most people think. I'll probably lay off of it though just because I can't deal with losing money and the Saints losing lol. I'll end up with a broken TV

Good stuff bud, hang in there. I do agree with the other poster in that your offense should put it together at some point. You guys have some underrated pieces and I think Brees still has it.

Give me Brees and points at the dome all day vs anyone. And it's the 1st home game, dome will be really rocking.
Think there is a big over reaction to monday. saints had 4 close fg's. they were moving the ball on that tough vikes D .we all know road saints are garbage and home saints are fire. peterson's 1st game w new team, cut him some slack.. plus if anyone knows how to shut him down, it's the vikes. guessing he finds the endzone vs pats, twice.
why the love for the pats? they were the most trash i have ever seen them. they are beat up to shreds. at foxboro vs chiefs who they beat every game and they get rolled smh. alex smith + kareem? hunt destroyed them, what do you think brees, AD, and ingram will do at the dome, oh my.
+7 is a super gift, +250 is a darn good feeling

And that's just it....as someone said Vegas isn't giving out free $
Basic understanding from Saints fans is they think they're not all that good
Supposedly Zach Strief out on the Saints offensive line they have a patchwork line
Brady normally bounces back hard but is he through.
There is only one choice imo. Wait. If the Pats go to -7 that is a play on the Pats, and if they don't perhaps go Saints moneyline. You have no other choice here than to wait until Sunday, unless you really think you know what you're doing (which is possible), or if the line significantly moves. Because right now it's stuck between 6.5 and 7 which is like being on the border between 2 countries at war.
