I faded the Packers the last two weeks as they are an average road team at best, but with or without Rodgers they still have one of the best home field advantages in the NFL. The Packers went from a Superbowl favorite, to people talking about who is now going to take the division - literally overnight. This has to be pissing off the veterans on this team, and this is a very experienced Packer team. Green Bay loves Rodgers, and the entire team looks to him as their leader. The Packers defense will absolutely ball out here for him as they know how crushed he was after the injury.
A lot is being made about how bad Hundley looked in relief of Rodgers. However, there is a huge difference between getting thrown into the middle of a road game and being asked to comeback from a deficit against the 5th best defense in the NFL - and having 7 days to formulate a game-plan and practice reps with the first string offense and facing the 26th ranked defense at home. Hundley will be fine here, as he won’t be asked to do too much. McCarthy will look to run the ball repeatedly, and play extremely tight defense in a low scoring game, making 6 points extremely beneficial.
I bet the Saints to beat the Lions last week, but they aren’t as dominating as the score looked. First of all, the Lions had 5 turnovers, in a game where Stafford was asked to throw the ball 52 times. That definitely won’t happen in this game as Green Bay will stick to the run game while playing extremely conservative on third down in the passing game. Drew Brees only went 21/31 for 186 yards against the Lions who are #23rd in the league against the pass. The Packers are far better ranked #11, and have a chance to get their starting cornerback and starting safety back for this game. The Saints scoring 52 points last week is very misleading and due to turnovers - something I don’t expect the Packers to commit with the gameplan they will have this Sunday.
Additionally, Championship teams as a home underdog are great bets, regardless of who’s playing as the QB, as champions love the “everyone is doubting us” role. Don’t believe me?
Patriots as a home underdog since 2002: 5-1 ATS
Steelers as a home underdog since 2005: 6-2 ATS
Packers as a home underdog since 2007: 6-1 ATS
Seahawks as a home underdog since 2011: 7-1 ATS
That is a combined 24-5 ATS (82.8%) betting on Superbowl winning teams at home when people are doubting them. This is my NFL game of the month.
Packers +6 -115 (6x) +205 (1x)
Saints Under 26 (1x)

McCarthy has been grooming this kid for three years now for exactly this situation.....he is no stranger to this system and is fully capable of running this offense....I do agree that McCarthy will use a conservative game plan as the OP stated , but as the game progresses McCarthy will open it up and use the entire playbook with this kid. He has the skill to make every throw and the mobility to extend plays.
Also, although we have a small sample size, the Green Bay coaching staff believe they found their RB in jones and I agree.... look for a big game from him against a defense that isn’t very good against the run. It’s going to open up the passing game especially in the 2nd half where I expect some big plays off of playaction...Green bay will score points Sunday.

The Flight Crew Takes A Knee And Walks Off, LeavingNew Orleans
Saints Stranded On Runway
The New Orleans Saints made the mistake of once again
disrespecting our veterans, our country and our flag. After an embarrassing
opening to a game with the worst ratings in Saints’ history, the players and
coaches learned that their actions have consequences.
Both the pilot and co-pilot of the Boeing 737 the Saints use to
travel are combat-hardened American heroes. They flew sorties over Baghdad with
Saddam’s best weapons firing back. They fought with their lives for your
freedom and watched many of their friends die. Today they took a stand for
those brave souls:
“We couldn’t be a party to the disrespect. We waited until we
were cleared and last off the runway for the night , walked out of the cockpit,
took a knee and deplaned. They’re not going anywhere until tomorrow.”
Looks like the group of thugs should have just considered
themselves lucky they’re allowed to make millions for playing a game and stood
with respect like they’re told to do in the league rulebook.
This week was the worst week in NFL history for ratings. Next
week will be worse.

You got your leg pulled.
Visiting teams gen. do not depart to opp. venues until the day before the game....like arriving around noon on sat. for a sunday game unless its a west coast team heading to the east coast...sometimes they arrive on a friday or if weather may disrupt the flight on a sat. so they leave early also. Took the time to have my leg pulled a little too (bored) and checked saints up to the min. forums and nothing there...no surprise...but the idea is a good 1 for a backlash situation. Do not think that would ever happen though cause a pilot and crew would be risking their jobs.....yes to make a statement and i would love that but at too high a price...... all to delay a sports team departure of a few hours.....not worth it.

I like the PACK in this situation and I think Hundley will look better after a week of preparation. Saints are a dome team that runs a precision offense and not so sure if a late October game works best for these kinds of teams. This line adjustment feels like it's about a FG too much and hard to figure out how the SAINTS can be a six point favorite on the ROAD. It's I.P.T (injured player theory) as most teams rally in their first game after losing a star player.

Percentages of wins ats does favor the team with the losing star player 61% more so than the opposing team at 39% wins ats.

The 1 bad thing they do is 3rd down conversions #32....however that is including the 1st 2 weeks of the season...... before the D. has jelled with 6 new starters from last year into this ball hawking bunch.
The Pack can still cover here IMO but their own Def. must play very well here themselves cause 1 cannot expect a QB in his 1st start to buck this Saint Def. off its sky high confidence and results pedestal and with a banged up GRB secondary that will be a big challenge vs this Saint Off.

Saints are 10-2-1 ATS (really 11-2) in their last 13 road games.

Brees and company will probably average one touchdown per quarter so that equals 28. Add 2 fieldgoals and the Saints have a total of 34. How many points do you think the rookie, Hundley is worth?
