NFC Championship and a trip to the superbowl on the line this week as the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers. The BIG stage is set and this is a huge rivalry game between these two clubs bragging rights. Regular season meetings were split with the home teams winning both times.
However let's look back to the week 2 primetime match up sunday nighter which was a similar situation on a big stage. The line was Seahawks (-3) favorites that day as well same line as it is this week. What happened? Seattle demolished the niners after a storm delay Final Score 29-3...
Now that was at the start of the season and teams were still finding their chemistry and lots can be said about their strengths and weaknesses and how the season progressed for both teams and into the playoffs after that game.
Niners have taken the long tough road to get to this game as a #5 seed beating GB in a tough game in the wildcard and CAR last week in the divisional round...since seattle took the NFC West Title this year and #1 seed. No matter what they were the #1 team in the NFC and deserved it. Now the seahawks are an entirely different animal when they play at home than on the road and they have had the 49ers number when playing in seattle.
49ers are on a roll and look like the typical wildcard team that catches fire late in the season road warriors and wins the SB like we've seen in the past years NY giants / ravens / packers etc etc.
Lastly out of the 4 teams left in the conference round the teams histories are out of those 4 teams the team that has never won the Super Bowl is the seahawks losing in their only appearance in 2005 vs PITT....patriots / broncos / and niners all have had their success in the past winning boat loads of titles between them...giving the seahawks a extra edge when it comes to being hungry and getting to at least the superbowl game this year.
Some notable trends to point out head to head.
Favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
Home team is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings.
49ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Seattle.
Now can someone talk me out of drinking the Seahawks bandwagon Kool Aid cause just can't see them losing this game at home despite the niners recent form and wanting to get back to avenge their SB loss to the ravens last year..... Seattle played the saints one day before 49ers @ panthers so an extra day of rest they got to stay home....meanwhile niners have to fly from east to west now with less rest.....Now i do think regardless this can be a tighter game compared to the week two blowout perhaps even a late score wins it for either side or a buzzer field goal maybe even go into overtime....Spreads are always risky but thinking of laying big on SEA ML to be safe.
On the other game leaning Pats +4.5 and ML. Can see a Patriots / Seahawks superbowl and seattle wins its first ever super bowl. Making it a nice cindarella story for the NFL ratings....we all know how the NFL loves its rating huh? Look at last week divisional round....like seriously seahawks niners broncos patriots all WON....it was like all set up to set up the perfect match up story line for this week for the ratings...
Please let's discuss what do u guys think?
Final Prediction Seahawks 20 Niners 17.

Just want to be on the right side. 49ers +3.5 maybe a hook to +4 could be a legit play and they are a legit SB contender not taking anything from them....but they are limping to the finish line and flying all over the country with less rest.
What is the angle on the niners for this game unless they can prove wrong this game and get the seahawks monkey off their back....still think seahawks is the right side. However niners plus the points is always smart since you always gotta take the points in the NFL.
Niners +4 hook could even be a huge play this game is really hard to decide WOW.

This is SF third straight time in the NFC Championship game. Not taking away from Seattle or their crowd, but I think this year SF wins it all. Kapernick looks good. Crabtree helps. I took SF +3 @ +110 from my local this morning. I will continue to monitor line and odds all week. It might be my single largest play this season.

just by sheer numbers alone sea @ home wins 22-20.. the hardest thing to determine is, does this 9er team have enough left in the tank to take on a very physical sea team..

Seattle were the ones limping. Niners are charging into history on golden chariots. SF will win the game IMO. List the rosters and pick the better player from each team. You will pick more Niners. They are kicking ass and this is the third Championship game in as many years and if you follow trends that would indicate a SF Super Bowl victory since they are getting progressively better. Like pats to cover and lose outright.

Last time 49ers played at Seattle I did a teaser made 49ers +15 and knew Seahawks don't lose at home but thought 49ers could keep it close and they got their azz kick all over field! Lol

Crunch all the numbers, compare all the players, and weather, this game will be decided on turnovers. 3 pts either way. BOL
Well said!. Both teams cannot pass well ranking the Seahawks at 26th in the league and the 49ers 30th in the league in pass yards....Both teams Defences are rock solid against the pass and run...and both teams can run the ball well. Give the edge to Seattle's Defence obviously at home and both offence's are mirror images of each other only thing niners have more star players and their O line is healthy now
This game will be won in the trenches whoever runs the ball better wins and like you said Fence turnovers will be the key to victory and also special teams and field position time of possession.
As far as a wagering stand point why not hook the niners to +4.5 if it's your biggest play incase of a 21-17 or 24-20 which is a key number and very likely?
It's Very possible niners lose but cover or push the three or four points

Whoever wins this game is taking the superbowl don't care about the pats or broncos...for either teams it's a nice story. Seahawks first ever title or niners avenge last years run and almost winning at the end.
Niners +4.5 hook BIG or Seahawks ML BIG are the plays for this one.......HHMMMMmmMM

I haven't decided on a side yet, but if you want reasons to back the Niners, here's a couple
1 The storm delay affected the dynamic of the first game, so I place less value on that game, compared to the second meeting, which was a close game. IMO the upcoming game should be much more like the second meeting, than the first.
2 "patriots / broncos / and niners all have had their success in the past
winning boat loads of titles between them...giving the seahawks a extra
edge when it comes to being hungry and getting to at least the superbowl
game this year."
I don't believe this is a factor at all. Right now, everyone's equally hungry to win 2 more games.
3 Evaluating all the skill players, I give an edge to SFO, because I like their receivers better
4 Harbaugh has a 21-6 ATS road record as Niners HC. Prior to that, he beat Carroll (Stanford vs USC) as a 41 point underdog. If anyone can get the win (or at least, cover) at Seattle, Harbaugh can.

Wow biscuit buddy that's amazing insight. Specially that last part...Like I said before both sides can be disected as a legitimate play of the year and if was to bet big on either side and have a smart big play it would be niners +4.5 four and a half hook or Seahawks ML

Trying to find that game is it this one in 2009 Final score 55-21 win for stanford? 41 pt dogs seriously? And also did not know richard sherman was from the CPT and went to stanford...it's a small world.

Great analysis. Seattle -3 will be my biggest bet of the playoffs.
For me this game is simple. Until the Niners prove they can win up in
Seattle, my money is with the Seahawks. I don't think Kaepernick is
mentally sharp enough to handle that insane environment and stay calm,
making the proper plays, adjustments. He can't read defenses and he wilts inside hostile enviroments.
He's gotten completely rattled both times he's played in Seattle.
Look at his numbers from the last game up there: Colin Kaepernick: 13-28, 127 yards, 3 ints, 0 TDs
And this was after lighting up Green Bay the week before!
Same with Boldin. He went for over 200 yards against GB, the next week against Seattle I think he had 1 catch for 8 yards. Sherman completely locked him up.
Wilson
on the other hand is a very intelligent game manager and just wins.
14-1 record playing at home. 14-1? His only loss was an almost
meaningless end of season game to Arizona (they won it on a last minute
comeback drive).
I mean Drew Brees just said
it's "one of the toughest places to win". This is a future
hall-of-famer who throws over 4,000 every year! They shut him out for 3.5 quarters, think he only had 40 yards at half-time.
I just don't see how
Kaepernick can get it done against that secondary.
People were all going crazy on this board that
the Saints would win this past weekend. "It's different this time, they
will be prepared!" No it wasn't.
BOL EVERYONE.

STOP LYNCH and SF wins this game. It will be a tight one thinking 24-21 SF even though i had been promoting SEA all along i have change my mind. Seattle didn't exactly blow out NO last week and if NO could have found a way to stop Lynch they would have won. SF has a lot of weapons and i think they pull this one out. Another thing is when you lose the SB the way SF lost last year on a miss call it sits deep in your gullet and they want back to the SB for redemption. JMHO G/L on any bets.

Just want to be on the right side. 49ers +3.5 maybe a hook to +4 could be a legit play and they are a legit SB contender not taking anything from them....but they are limping to the finish line and flying all over the country with less rest.

I looked at buying tickets for the game. Stubhub starts at $500 for a nosebleed end zone ticket -- and that was just a single. Prices are through the roof! So any Bay area folks coming up will be spending some serious coin for a ticket. There will be some for sure, but I don't expect it to be a really noticeable amount.

Seahawks had limited the tickets to 6 states (California not one) and Canada. So any 49ers fans would have to buy scalpers.
