andarmac - thanks buddy. Great post from you as well.
onebrokebloke - thanks. It does support the under, but I accept that my research will not be 100% correct all the time. I don't think NO will be kept quiet for four quarters, so I think the halfs split, with one over and one under. I'm debating whether to sit out until halftime or invest in my gut. GL today

One bright spot for Flacco this year, and actually over the last two years, has been his play in the first quarter. Over the last two seasons in the first quarter, Flacco has completed 64% of his passes, averages 125 yards through the air and has thrown 11 touchdowns vs. 1 interception. On top of this, Ray Rice has rushed 85 times for 454 yards in the first quarter, an average of 5.3 yards per carry. This season at home, the Ravens have outscored opponents 61-20 in the first quarter. They have been tied or led after the first quarter in 6 out of 8 home games this season. The two quarters where they weren’t ahead were vs. Arizona where they trailed 3-0 and vs. Cincinnati where they trailed 7-0. Each of these games had two big passing plays of more than 45 yards, one of which was a 66 yarder. In the Arizona game, the Ravens were in the red zone when the first quarter ended. Assume Baltimore comes out of the gates and responds to Ray Lewis as they have all year, the Texans might need a big passing play from TJ Yates to lead at the half. So, a rookie on the road against one of the league’s best home teams and top defenses, who haven’t played on their turf in the playoffs since 2006, will need to make a big play. I’ll invest that he doesn’t and I’ll take Flacco and the home team to take the early first quarter lead
Baltimore -0.5 first quarter (32 units to win 26.67)
Dennis Pitta OVER 2.5 Receptions (23 units to win 20)
First Score of the Game - Non-TD (20 units to win 22)
Houston / Baltimore UNDER 18 first half (27 units to win 25.71)
Houston Texans +4.5 first half (22 units to win 20)
