I had some conflicting leans on this game and stayed open minded enough, but after I looked over the spot for both teams and their upcoming schedules, I had to take the bengals here.
This would have been a bigger play if Cinci had not of dropped their last 3 out of 4. In this game, I am not expecting a very high scoring affair, 17-13 type of game.
I know the stats for Houston. I know about their run offense, their defense, how they keep winning. This is gambling and I am betting that the odds don't line up for them on Sunday. Most teams fail with their 2nd string qb, Houston has to fight to win the division with their 3rd string.
One thing I have always seen happen, is what happened last week in the Atlanta game. Backup starts his first game of the season, road team is laying a short number and the home team steps up and covers the game, most of the time they win SU and Houston did. And for the next number of games, they shit the bed and you are left scratching your head how did you pick the game that the backup would play out of his mind?
Texans had a good game and stepped up last week, they also were the benefit of penalties to keep them in the game, that and Atlanta has shown us all season that they can't be trusted on the road.
Say what you want about this game, but my bet here is simply that even thought the bengals have dropped some games, they are going to catch a Texans team on the road, starting their 3 rd stringer and he will be relying heavily on the run game and his defense to keep him in it. Can houston cover, sure, but I don't think the odds are in their favor this time.
