Niners are -3. Its on Monday and can be tricky. I would wait to see Ben's condition. If he's full strength, it can go anyway since the Niners dont really need it and the Steelers know the Ravens will probably win. GL

Ravens will play one day ealier on SNF, Steelers will know the outcome of Ravens/Chargers before they face the Niners on MNF. Regardless, Raven will win their Division if both teams tie the record at the end of week 17.

Niners still need to beat Saints for NFC second seed race.

That is correct. That is why its too early to commit for Niners game becuase if everything goes as expected - Ravens win - Niners will have a pretty slim chance at the bye week if they lose to Steelers but then Ben factor is unknown and also teams who challenge the Niners for Spot iF - is unknown. Have to wait on that one

I think this is a statement game for the Niners. They want to prove to the league they are a solid team who can beat a quality opponent. They got beat soundly vs Ravens but I think they will want this game more than Pitt.  Pitt's philosophy will be just getting healthy for the playoffs. They aren't afraid to go on the road in the playoffs so home field advantage is less important to them.

i agree with this completely.  its destiny that pittsburgh gets the number 5 seed and travels to denver.  then tim tebow lowers his shoulder and bulldozes james harrison.

 IMO in NFL there are not really a statement games. There are private Superbowls thou - like the one yesterday for the Seahawks. That MNF was their Superbowl. That was the reason I picked them to cover.  The thing you right about is the Steelers considering Ben's condition not risking him unneccesserily and tha's what i am saying that we will have to see. Anyway, there are much easier games to pick than this one and I listed all of them that I think are easier. Money is Money and it does not really matter if it comes on interesting games or from games like yesterday or last weeks MNF where an obvious Over was a cash on the streets. GL Bro

NY Giants vs WASH Redskins

Giants are going to win and cover for all the right reasons: they need the game to clinch, they are not going to lose to the Skins twice in one season because they are a much better team, Eli will throw TDs here unlike in the season opener against them, Giants will come out firing all cylinders to cover up on key injuries as well as JPP will continue to dominate Grossman and will sack him (2 sacks in the first game out of four the Giants had), the Giants have suffered lots of criticism during a four game slide and at home they will have to prove to themselves first and to the fans and nedia that they can be consisdered seriously in the postseason.

HOU Texans vs CAR Panthers

The Texans are in the playoffs already but are not an experienced post season team and thus cannot afford to lay back. They will continue to play hard to maintain the momentum and continue their winning streak. Their loss to Oakland was circumstancial and Carolina will not factor in this game where the Texans will be playing again a circumstancial game, only this time they will be the ones thriving for a convincing win for Phillips who turned them into one of the best defensive teams and will be undergoing a kidney surgery. They will cover because they are not looking at the line when playing and doing enthusiasticly like

MIN Vikings vs NO Saints

Saints are riding a 5 gane winning streak and play an extra important game with implications on their playoff place of entrance. They wanna have a home game in the playoffs and although the Niners are in a better position now because of their division record - the saints know the Niners have a difficult Monday night game against the Steelers and will play with full tank against the happless vikings who can not seriously count on Paterson alone to win a game for them. The Saints will cover here easily.

OAK Raiders vs DET Lions

Raiders need this game and if they will play disciplined game avoiding stupid penalties, the Lions will beat themselves by their even more stupid penalties. Overall this game will hold advantage for a home team for all the right reasons which could be understood because of this year being a special year for the Raiders

NE Patriots vs DEN Broncos

I do not have illusions about Tim Tebow winning this one, but I also do not have illusions about the Pats making effort to cover here as they are defensively vulnerable and pretty much are already thinking postseason as any experienced in the playoffs team. I see this game being a field goal game.

SD Chargers vs BAL Ravens

SD is not usual itself this season while for the Raven - this is a must game in their battle against the Steelers.
