    Game: Giants @ Vikings
    Time: 1:00 PM EST
    Line: Giants -3

The title of this thread contains the famous words each contestant would frequently say before hitting their button of a wildly popular 80's game show called 'Press Your Luck'.

On a monopoly type board, many squares contained cash and prizes while several contained whammy's which brought you to zero if you hit the button when a lit square was contained one. Then a cartoon whammy might come out as a celebrity/jester doing a moonwalk over your cash total like MJ as your amount went to zero.

    Here's a clip:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIJYfvN9954&feature=related

One man, Michael Paul Larson, saw a pattern while he was watching at home. He then took 6 VCR's (quite expensive at the time in the mid-80's) and 6 TV's and recorded every show he saw. After that, he watch all six TV's and realized the algorithm that was used to 'randomly' light the squares repeated itself quite quickly and wasn't random at all. He mapped the pattern on paper and memorized it.

I can tell you even after watching this show hundreds of times, I saw a hint of a pattern but never believed anyone could track it and memorize it like Larson did.

Well then, what's the next step? He had to get on the show to do something about it! Back in the 80's only about 50 people a day applied in person at the studios for Press Your Luck and they usually took 1/2 people a day. Pretty good odds and not worse than today's job market applicant field!

Guess what? They put him on the show.

Now he was in the position to execute his master plan....

    And execute it he did!!!

On his first spin, he was so nervous and out of sync, he actually 'whammied'...

But Larson regained his composure...and the beauty of this game is that your turn is never-ending....If you hit the BIG BUCKS square...which contains the highest cash value on the board in addition to a free spin!

Larson went ballistic on the show and managed to 'legally cheat',
and the host nor the show could do anything about it in front of a studio audience...

The host actually almost wet himself in the process Larson's run, not believing you could evade the whammy that many times and probably had to do a pants change in the middle of all this...

    The result?

$110,000+ in cash and fabulous prizes!!!!...a RIDICULOUS amount of money at the time for a game show winner...

Give yourself the pleasure of watching this genius in action:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIJYfvN9954&feature=related

Now you might be asking yourself, "Why the fuck is he telling me all this shit about an 80's game show I never heard of and what the fuck does this have to do with the Giants/Vikings game this Sunday?"

    Good question!

    I'll tell you.

Michael Larson had a plan of action. And executed it to perfection. Before he went on Press Your Luck, he knew exactly when to hit that button to land on the Big Bucks square...Every...single...time.

I have the plan of action with the New York Giants. And I know when to hit that "Place My Bet" with a mouse click when it comes to this team.

Earlier this year, I gave you the one and only Play of the Year with the Giants -7 vs. Carolina :

    https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=21&sub=100820178

    Final...a comfortable cover with a 31-18 win

Before that, I implored you to bet big on them in a meaningless preseason game vs. the Jets...
    https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=21&sub=100820178

    An easy Giants 31-16 win...

My point? I don't care about wins/losses/units on this site. All I'm telling you is that I know when to drop some timber with the Giants...moreover, when to cut down a fucking forest with 'em when the opponent is ideal.

This Sunday, the Vikes have taken the road less traveled and a big fucking redwood is about to be dropped on Favre's ass.

    Why the G-men?

The Carolina bet of the year was predicated on the fact the Giants were christening a new stadium as well as avenging the ass-kicking they took in their old one to close out the 2nd to last game the previous season. The pick worked to perfection and Giants steamrolled the Panthers.

Sunday, the Giants have revenge on their minds once again, to do what the Vikes did to them the previous year in a 44-9 loss to close out the season... eliminate them from the playoffs in devastating fashion.

The Vikes are allegedly rejuvenated with Tavarius behind center. Guys, they beat the Redskins away and the Bills at home...two teams the Giants can manhandle at will. Let's not go overboard.

This is the first quality team they will be facing since the Packers...They've beaten the following teams this year: Buffalo, Arizona, Washington, Dallas, and Detroit....they feast on the bottom-feeders and disappear against top teams. How quickly everyone has forgotten the 31-3 beating they took at home three weeks ago against Green Bay...a GB team the Giants would hang tough with on the frozen tundra.

The Giants on the other hand are emerging form their mid-season funk. After losing to Philly (in part because Eli couldn't slide properly), they put on a second half clinic against Jacksonville in a big confidence-building comeback win and wasted Washington at home last week, setting them up perfectly for another one of the dregs of the NFC.

It's a revenge game, the Giants running back situation is solved, the defense won't have a first half meltdown like they did against Jax and Eli is playing with confidence again...

All in a revenge spot to do exactly what this team did to them the year prior...

    The Vikes QB dilemma?

There is none. Favre will get some reps, continue his streak, waste a series or two the Giants can capitalize on and then they will be ready for Tavarius for the rest of the game. This defense will have all bases covered. And Tavarius is not one to be feared given his limited time behind center. You have a rookie coach against a top flight one with a confident, imposing roster.

    Let me make this clear...

This Sunday...I am YOUR Michael Paul Larson!!!

No Whammys will moonwalk over your bankroll when this one is said and done...
I know when to hit the button...

    Just the Giants tomorrow...

It's a lot harder than you think to hit several games on a Sunday, although it is more enjoyable because it spreads the action from day to night, giving you the desirable look-in all day long.

Don't bother. Pick one game you feel very strongly about and stick with that.

Vikings win here...Sorry, not just a homer pick.

Gmen can't even fly into MN right now, the whole state is literally snowed in and it wont let up for awhile.

20+ inches of snow and counting.
