got 5.5 on some and 6 on some
At the end of the day, we are dealing with football coaches. Many of them still believe that blocking, tackling and being physical can give them a competitive advantage.
Problem is, by the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs, everyone can block and tackle. Everyone is on par physically. You have to manage games perfectly. Not hyper-aggressively, but perfectly.
I really don't care what you do with your timeouts in the first half. It can cost you points, but not the game.
However, 2nd Half Timeouts are like GOLD!!!!!! Do these guys really think a 5 yard delay penalty is going to cost them the game? Or a 12 man D penalty? If your D is screwed up, touch an offensive player...take the 5 and reset....unless we are in a very special circumstance, get over a 5 yard penalty "costing" you the game.
IF you are behind, or in a contested matchup, then you ABSOLUTELY must go into the last 3:30-4:30 with all 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning.
There simply is no excuse.......yet these "football men" do it over and over and over.....
