I like their odds against SF in Week 1. Saleh, former DC, returns home to Santa Clara. Rodgers, returns home to Bay Area. Most importantly, the Jets have one of the most improved rosters in the off-season per some "roster strength" rankings cited by Adam Chernoff. And as we all know, their defense is pretty pretty good.
Line was NYJ +6, then it dropped to +5.5. I bought the 1.5 points and have NYJ +7.
A friend suggested I take NYJ ML, but I am not confident they'll win outright. Prefer to take the points and hope for a SB hangover at home in Week 1.

7 points is nice but if Jets do not generate a decent ground attack is 40 year old Rodgers gonna be able to hit the ground running after not having played a game since 1/8 /23.

What are the results for a former DC who is now a head coach going on the road in week one to face his former team on MNF???

No A-Rod @ mandatory mini and he didn't even call out slick. If that sucker has a sub par year he's gonna get roasted.
There's some chatter out there that his other Achilles heel isn't doing too well. And it makes sense, it's very common for someone to blow out the other Achilles after snapping the first one. Over compensation and old age is a biotch.
I bet he doesn't go far at all into the season.

Agree…on the hangover…. is there another team to tease them with and get 12-13 ish. Chiefs will start slow. Jets n philly… jets n Detroit. 3 teams that should have been motivated this offseason. Just my 2 cents.

@Mskeets Titans. Why are the Bears even favored?! lol. Rookie QB with all new team basically and still the same god awful coach.
On yesterday's (WED) ESPN Bet Live, Joe Fortenbaugh picked CHI Over 9.5 regular season wins. He mentioned that after they acquired Montez Sweat, CHI had a Top 3 DEF the rest of the season.

F.D. is showing 8' at a hefty -160 with the U +130.

Personally I would be leary of an aging QB off a lost season facing the 49er defense. Will he have any kind of timing with any of his receivers?
He has been practicing and will have been practicing with them for a while, and he’s had a full year to learn the playbook. While I don’t agree with all the stuff he says, he’s still Aaron Rodgers and he will be more motivated than ever before. He obviously is oversensitive about criticism (if you pay attention to all his talk), so after getting roasted for months he’s going to be coming into that game with a Michael Jordan memory of slights coming into that game.
Plus SF may be overvalued, and still has to get their offense together. Not sure if Aiyuk will even play tbh. Gotta wonder about how healthy Greenlaw will be too. New DC again in SF too.

Oh. He's been practicing you say and will be more motivated than ever before. So the 49ers won't be motivated at all is your conclusion.

I didn’t say that “the 49ers won’t be motivated at all”, you said that. Funny how you zeroed in on that and ignored everything else I said. I don’t care if you don’t like it, you can post opposing viewpoints and facts that support them - that’s great. But this childish defensive straw man stuff is just garbage

I didn't watch yesterdays show but I watched it on Tuesday and the guy said he "absolutely loved" the over in the Bears season win total.I've been eyeing a couple bets against the Bears,so it kinda surprised me he said that (I personally think they'll be lucky to be above .500 for the season).I have to believe Caleb struggles at least a little bit if not a lot (especially early in the season),not really buying all the Mahomes comparison's.The bets I've been eyeing are
-110 for them not to make the playoffs, but I'm kinda leery they might be able to sneak in at 9-8 or maybe even at 8-9,which wouldn't take to much of an improvement from their 7-10 record last year.
-155 for them to go under 9.5 wins,I personally can't see them going 10-7
-250 for them to go under 10.5 wins,(would absolutely hate paying that kinda juice) but I really can't see them ever going 11-6 this year.So I would almost view that as a "for sure" win (or as "for sure" as anything can actually be in the NFL).
He did bring up a couple good points on why he liked the over.I think he said they had like the 3rd easiest schedule this year. And that they went 7-10 last year,so they really didn't need Caleb to be a star right out the gate, but just be competent and they should be able to go over the win total.I do think the D. Swift signing is really going to help Caleb and their offense out.
