I have been meaning to post some of my futures bets on divisional and conference champions, seasonal long win totals and props that I like. As with my last post on season projections, I am heavy on the Jets and therefore some of these bets tie in with that same narrative. Depending on how things go the first few weeks, I will adjust some of my positions as I head back to Vegas at the end of September. The Exacta Championship bets at Circa will allow you to hedge some of your positions.
Super Bowl Winner
Jets 22/1 - LARGE - 50 units
Jets 18/1 - 13 unirs
Philadelphia Eagles 14/1 - 10 units
Cleveland Browns at 40/1 - 3 units
Conference Championship
Philadelphia Eagles to win NFC Conference +525 - 5 units
I like the eagles in this spot. I really think that the NFC comes down to them and the Lions. I predict that the 49ers, despite their talent, will have. a drop of this season because of the offensive line and the problems associated with it. Besides Trent Williams, who is a hold out, the line is suspect. I think we will some problems surface with Purdy this year if he cannot get a clean pocket in the absence of Williams and with Burford and Aaron Banks being major liabilities at the Guard position. I think the Packers will be a threat to this bet, but I still see them having a mediocre year as Jordan Love continues to come into his own as a second year player. I followed the Packers closely as they were my SB pick 2 years ago, the team has talent at edge (Rashan Gary), corner (Jaire Alexander), and WR (Watson, Doubs, and Reed), but they play the Lions and Bears twice this year and I could see them being a 9-10 win team if things don't pan out, several question marks from unproven guys on the O-line
Odds to Win Division
Philadelphia Eagles -110 - 10 units
Houston Texans +100 - 10 units
Cleveland Browns +500 - 6 units
Carolina Panthers +1000 - 1 unit
Love Philadelphia to win the division at that price of -110. They will edge out the Cowboys, who will have a down year. Houston plays in arguably one of the toughest divisions facing the Jags who started the year 8-3 last year and the Colts, who have a great coach and tremendous upside with Anthony Richardson and their top 5 offensive line. I still like the Houston Texans to win this division, and at even money I think it is a +EV bet. With regard to the Panthers, I think Bryce Young has a much better sophomore campaign, they have improved. his offensive line and his new head coach is QB friendly, resurrecting the careers of Gino Smith and Baker Mayfield. Panthers play in the worst division and I have seen odds as good as 14/1 for them to win the division, and I could see it happening if NO and Bucs under achieve, I wouldn't crown the Falcons prematurely either.
