Most important position on the football field besides the center is the qb.............the qb can easily fix a game & with that said, did Rivers go that route? I doubt it but I will never say a pro athlete wont do shady things in a game for his own reasons, that would make me naive.
Everything is crooked nowadays, politics, sports, whatever is organized & involves lots of money, you can bet your bottom dollar there is shady stuff going on.
As for the NFL, the referees are definitely involved in shady practices, its clear as day..............people always say, well it would have come out by now if there was something going on.........it will some day..............but for now, the NFL is the biggest & most watched league out there & I love it!
