Playoff experience has bolstered Jalen Hurts

This is not a baseless opinion from a guy who admittedly has only a rudimentary understanding of football (I do not feel qualifed to coach a team of third-graders); this is a simple analysis of data from Pro Football Reference.

For those KC fans and bettors who believe there is NO way that JH could possibly outplay the indomitable PM, consider these facts and opinions:

This season, PM's PO rating is 105.2 and JH's is 105.0.

In his first PO game JH threw 2 INTs; in the next 7 he threw none.

Lifetime PO INT % - PM 1.1%, JH 0.9%

Per NFL.com passing DEF ratings, KC is 90.6 (#12) and PHL 82.5 (#3).

In my admittedly uneducated opinion, I expect Saquon Barkley to exert more influence on KC's linebackers than all of KC's rushers combined exert on PHL's.

Yes, Spagnuolo is very good and I have a mental bet on SB Under 112.5 rushing yards, but KC's concentration on SB leads me to a mental bet on JH Over 37.5 rushing yards.  All of this shaky analysis lead me to take JH MVP +375 for one unit.

I am having a terrible year, so feel free to take all of this potential garbage as perfect fade material.

BOL  You make some strong points about Hurts' improvements. More experience usually adds to better performance and he has gotten a lot of that.
I thought Hurts outplayed Mahomes in Superbowl 57. I was on the Chiefs then but I admired his performance. 

In 2024 Hurts ranked #3 vs man coverage but only #22 vs zone.   When opponents blitz, Hurts is sacked 13% of the time, highest rate in the league.

on the other side……the Eagles defense ranks 12th on pass plays on 3rd and 4th downs.     On 3rd and 4th down with 6+ yards to go, Mahomes converts 51% of the time.    No other QB in the last 5 years is over 50% in that category.

bottom line, Hurts has done an excellent job of improving his game over the years, but Mahomes has more experience and processes info a little faster, and I think that’ll be the difference in the game

With the Maturity of Hurts as you mentioned and the addition to a running back that is one of the best to play in his position since that Superbowl two years past it really does  make one  wonder......what's with all the love for the Chiefs when hands down the Eagles are the better team and come Sunday night them Chiefs will be back in their tee pees having a pow wow and wondering what went wrong.

Most Superbowl MVP is handed to the quarterback and if it's not him then Barkley but hey at a plus 375 why not take that gamble....good luck Dogbite

As I have said several times, I am not a skilled observer.  Feel free to disagree with me.

I am glad that JH won the MVP for this particular game, but IMHO it wasn't that JH played great and PM stunk up the joint, but that both of PHL's lines were totally dominant.

Maybe JH DID play great according to this info from Yahoo Sports:

 Good pick with Hurts winning MVP in the big game..The Eagles did a very good job with putting pieces around him to succeed over recent years..(Defense,Barkley,Online) 

Hurts threw over 200 yards yesterday and the Eagles finished the season 10-0 when he did throw for 200+ yards this season 

The shit I let out this morning looked better and probably thinks more critically than Jalen Hurts…..

It's easy to see why this guy is in Covers Rehab.
