It looks like we have another example coming this week.  I expect that everyone will be betting the Cowboys hard based on them beating the Eagles 2 weeks in a row.

Minnesota is 8-0 at home averaging 32.75 ppg and allowing only 15.5 ppg!  The Cowboys just played 2 rivalry games against the Eagles and now go to the Metrodome.  This has all the makings of a let-down...especially after 2 physical, high-emotion games.

The Viking offensive and defensive line will be physical and will dominate.  I only bet big on what I know.  My big college bet of the year was AGAINST my Gophers when they played the Illini.  I am going with my Vikings big in this one.  Definitely my NFL play of the year.

It would seem to me that most people would be on the Vikings -2.5 or Moneyline in this one. +2.5 isn't really alot of points for a road dog.

The public IS dumb - thats a fact. With that being said anyone who thinks the public is ALWAYS wrong is dumber. Going against the public is a very profitable strategy but you have to pick a choose your moments. With that being said, you wont be able to gauge public sentiment accurately until just prior to game time.

Not sure which way I am going with this game yet but I personally would not count on a "letdown". Dallas is on fire right now and trying to fight their way to the Super Bowl. The again, they did beat a team they just dominated which is a luxury in the 1st round.

The real public game on the board this week is the NYJ/SD game. A big market team like the NYJ will get all kinds of backing from East Coast squares based on the superior performance of the NYJ on Saturday.

Everyones forgotten how much ass SD kicked to end the season. These teams are not anywhere near each other in terms of proficiency. In addition, the NYJ are traveling to the West Coast to play an important game vs. a extremely difficult opponent and that is a hard trip to make succesfully.

my gut feeling is strongly in fav of minn dont think favre will let them do anything but win but is dallas balanced better?

I am thinking that everyone will be on Dallas....especially after all the ESPN "experts" start their lovefest!

I don't always bet against the public.  I am just saying that I suspect that this is a classic spot where they will be all over Dallas...and that really makes no sense if you know the teams and look at the numbers.

Saints are favored by 7 and the Vikes by only 2.5?  The books know the pub will love Dallas here.

This line is perfect for Vegas because Vegas is trying to send out the perfect number to get equal action. 3.5 or 4 is too much because people would pound the cowboys and anything less than 2.5 or 3 will be pounded by Minny backers. Cowboys are a very public team so I think Vegas will take tons of free money.

In this case, Min is the 2nd most wagered on team, while Dal is the 14th most wagered on team. 

I'm leaning on Min as they shine at home while Dal plays much better at home.  As of 1 day of wagering, 58% have bet on Dal in this game.

It seems that Cowboys backers are giving their team too much credit for beating this Philly team twice in a row at home.  Philly beat 1 team with winning record all year and that was ATL w/out Matt Ryan. 

I'm not making a play one way or another but if you're backing the cowboys because they took care of the Eagles the last two weeks, i would be careful.

As good as Dallas has played and as average as Minnesota has, I think most public backers would take Dallas despite their record on the road, despite Romo's propensity to force plays, despite their terrible kicker who was recently fired, and despite Minn record at home.

sounds like a homer play to me. Ware is gonna be all over old man Favre all day. This will be a low scoring blood bath of a game, should come down to a field goal. Hopefully the line moves to 3. GL

this game will have the most evenly split action of the weekend, i promise you... nothing about this game will have a public play to it... might be more people in these forums on the Cowboys, but the game itself will not represent a public play, one way or another...

also take a look at who Minny has beaten at home this year SF, GB, BAL, DET, SEA, CHI, CIN, and NYG. They got lucky to beat the Niners on a last second play, GB was horrible to start the season, they only beat BAL by 2, Lions, Bears, and the Giants were all terrible teams this year, Giants did beat Dallas twice this year, but the first time, there was too much pressure on the Dallas in the first game at the new stadium and 2nd time Dallas was not playing well. The victory in New Orleans turned the Cowboys season around. Only good team Minny beat at home was the Bengals and we all saw what the Bengals were really made of against the Jets. Dallas wins this game and ends Favre's carrer.

Wrong. Theres no chance that NYJ isnt a big public play going into the game.
