Absolutely horrific no matter the compensation they get back. Your not talking about one of the top 3 defensive players in the league and this team couldn&#x27;t get the deal done? It&#x27;s not like Oakland didn&#x27;t know the price tag. They knew how much it would cost to keep him. But for years they just twitted their thumbs and let the situation fester and in the process, the price tag increase exponentially. This team is moving to Vegas in a year and will be flush with PSL, any Raiders fan should be ashamed of this organization and be set to burn all their memorabilia.

Oak did not want to gaur. that 4th year on the contract when he was 29...that was a major sticking point i heard....makes sense but thats 5 years from now....well i am sure with a lot of teams making an offer for him Oak got a lot in return so lets see......hey if the guy was not even neg. the last few months its a lost cause...now they get some big goddies in return remember gruden is there for many years the prob. multitude of high draft picks he gets from the pick of the litter offers from around the league will make the raiders a better team down the road...no not this year or next either but later when vegas is their home......better in 3 years and on prob. yes...Mack is happy he gets out of a high tax shithole area 13.5% on top of fed tax.

Mack's accountant might disagree with you. Gruden could've easily back loaded the $$$$$ next year (destination unknown) or 2 when they play in a zero tax state. As a reference point Ill. Is 4.75%

i also think they overpaid Derek Carr which would have been a tough pill for Raiders to swallow to sign Mack to a big contract regardless how good he is. Raiders shot themselves in the foot in this one..

i dont get some managment. why pay your qb top dollars based on just one good season? i think the Lions and Raiders are regretting their deal.. you would need at least several good seasons capped off with a super bowl win or at least an appearance in a super bowl win or lose before i pay you handsomely

&#xA;I&#x27;m sorry but your totally overvaluing draft picks. Talent is talent and someone like Mack is impossible to replace. Sure Oakland gave themselves 2 draft picks to try to do so but the odds are clearly against them doing so.

[/Quote]im not overvaluing anything calling it as i see it. yes Raiders are taking a gamble here and it depends what they got in compensation for it. reportedly Raiders wanted two 1st round picks and Bears may have obliged plus maybe add another pick 2nd round, 3rd round or something plus cash considerations. not sure the terms of the deal. clearly Raiders are in mini rebuild mode with Gruden.. and he covets draft picks. replacing Mack will be tough no doubt but there will always be another Mack or Ray Lewis somewhere down the road just depends  how soon or how lucky the Raiders get and theyre willing to gamble on that. hard to find someone like Mack but talent is replaceable believe it or not. i think youre overvaluing Mack a little bit here. in the long term, they save cap space and add some quality players in the draft... first things first, they need to fix their secondary...

Yup. They will have four 1st rd picks in the next two years.This will show how well Gruden and staff can recruit. I think it would be tragic if all 4 picks bomb, that&#x27;s hard to see.

Recruit? He is clueless about drafting. He waisted a 3rd this year on the just released Bryant. Reached with his 1st rounder as well. Just gave up a 5th for McCarron. If your rebuilding why give up a 5th for someone who isn&#x27;t much better than what you have?A 3rd for contract year Bryant? Where&#x27;s the sense in that?

[/Quote]They will not keep McCarron next season, he is a solution for this season and he is a solution because neither Cook or Manuel are NFL Quarterbacks, McCarron is capable in case Carr gets injured. I would have been happier with a 6th or 7th being shipped but at the end of the day they had to get something done, because the simply did not have a backup NFL QB on their roster. Cook and Manuel are both beyond putrid and are not even CFL level Qb&#x27;s. Had to be done.
