I’ve been around 11 years. Halliburton was. My first job when I got out of prison. Prior to prison for 9 years, I requested my job back and I worked for them for another year until I decided I wanted to start a Residential/Commercial Painting LLC “Morehouse Creations”. I now only weld when necessary. Stay with it but you will see that most of the stuff welding school teaches, you will throw out the window when you hit the pipeline. Keep your skill and keep your rhythm but blend in with the old timers and let them mold you. You being “Green” is going to award you with a lot of grief. Just take the bad days out there with the good and like I said, find an old timer and make friends. The lessons you will learn from them are INVALUABLE. I’ll be here if you EVER HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. Appreciate it. im a semi old timer myself lol @ 37 just starting now. i see that as a positive and a negative but more positive. im not as dumb and unreliable as these youngins these days. looking to get my 15-20 yrs in, collect pension, and retire hopefully unscathed from permanent injury lol.

Always remember this one thing that used to piss me off.. “EVERY WELDER YOU MEET IS GOING TO BE A SELF PROCLAIMED MASTER” DONT get mad when they nit-pick your welds. They will do that EVEN IF the weld is PERFECT. lol they are so annoying!! I got myself into a couple fights over the shit hahaha
