this man was given a gift of all gifts years ago and drove it into a cliff on the field and now drives it into another one 100 miles north because his incompetency couldn't make anyone happy to build a stadium in America's 6th largest city...
For 15 years he jerked off the fans in SD, and now he thinks LA will run to his beck and call as 2nd fiddle just as stupidly as Donald Sterling has thought with the Clippers...this is not NY or Chicago...
On the field, he allowed a GM no one has since come close to hiring, AJ Smith, fire a 14-2 Marty Schotenheimer..14 AND FREAKING 2!! Never happened in the NFL before and never ever will again...the brilliant replacement to take over the most talented team by far in 2006 was Norv Turner who just reeked of head coaching success..and subsequently blew home playoff games as heavy favorites to rookie Mark Sanchez, etc. He kept Norv 4 more extra years and wasted great careers of LT, Rivers, Gates, and on
They wasted this talent built and coached up by their predecessors and now he blew the opportunity to either build a first class stadium in SD years ago or move to LA years ago where all he had to do was sell 40% of his team to Staples Center for a beautiful new downtown LA Stadium before the Rams had any chance...
The only thing he finally did was make a decision...which he was never good at so he didn't jerk the poor people of SD any longer for another new proposal for more years...but bro, I work and cover the LA metro sports area and no one cares...

You are 120% correct in all you just said. Nobody gives a flying f..uck about this team & pretty soon nobody will give flying f...uck about that other sorry a..ss team from St. Louis either.
But more than that,I'm absolutely disgusted with all these a..sshole owners holding their hometowns & pathetic loyal fans hostages in trying to get what they want when these teams rake in billions of dollars & don't need any more fckn handouts.
I had my heart ripped out in 1995 when that Bit..ch Georgia Frontiere took my Rams to St. Louis & 20 years later, they had the audacity to come back to LA. And I couldn't believe all these dummbass old Rams fans rolling out the red carpet to welcome this sorry a..ss treacherous team. It's like your girlfriend running away with another dude (flipping middle finger while on her way out) & after that relationship soured, she crawls back to you & you take the slu.t back. Well not me, I said FU to Rams & all other teams moving back & forth.
People say this is only matter of business & owners will always do to better their interest. I totally understand & agree to that concept except sports franchises are different that you're asking for fan loyalty, support & commitment. Without it, you will fail & fail miserably. So when it is your success & viability on the line, you ask for that loyalty but when you have to stay committed to those same fans/market, it just all becomes a "business". And these owners are not gonna go broke or hungry because NFL is rolling in money. These teams with the help from NFL can build their own goddamn stadiums. They are all fat fckn pigs getting fatter & they want to get more fatter. When is it enough? I know there is no end to human greed but this is bulls..hit.
Well mo..therfu.ckers, not me. And everybody else should do the same. Stop supporting these teams, don't go to the games, buy their jerseys etc.... I'll always watch, I mean only reason why this NFL is so successful is because of the gambling aspects of it anyways but let's not contribute any more cold hard cash to these fat pigs.
Or if they absolutely have to move, do like what the Ravens did. Leave the team color, logo & history for the city so when & if another expansion team is established, they can continue the tradition. The moving teams can take on a new identity & the owners can go fuc.k themselves in the new city.

Nobody hired Schottenheimer after that firing either which made me think that Marty was put on a blacklist of sorts for daring to confront the power of a moronic GM and the team owner.
Norv Turner with arguably the best talent in all of football ran the franchise into the ground.
Marty deserved better and had it not been for a San Diego defensive back trying to be a hero on a 4th down intercept of Brady, the Chargers may well have gone to the Superbowl that year. Late in the 4th quarter, the DB caught the ball way down field and while running the ball back across the middle was stripped and it set up Brady deep in SD territory.
It was a heartbreaking loss and had nothing to do with Marty playing conservatively in the big game. Schottenheimer was a defensive genius and a talented head coach and he deserved a better fate IMO.

Firing a 14-2 NFL coach...I mean can you believe I typed that? And a young team at that with LT and such in early years...
yeah, absolutely right, that DB just had to take a seat with the ball and we run out the clock and the Chargers get the Colts at home for the Super Bowl, who they beat in the post season several times..
Never give the Pats any chances and Norv Turner's brilliance had one of his teams leave a live football on the field for a Patriot to run in for a TD one time...
But this clown listened to his GM Smith, who only got the job because his boss died from cancer, who had built the Bills prior...

If the SD Charges were a stock, I would short it for the next few years. LA does not care about football. Putting one team there is a disaster. Two is stupid. Bad business decision.

Teams should not be able to take their names with them when they move. Teams need to win if they want to survive. Chargers might survive but won't win a super bowl before the rams... Neither of which will happen any time soon. Unless there's some form of agreement. Lol. I don't see why they need public funds. They should be locking away proceeds from every year of operation for overhauling the facility or building a new one. I think everyone can agree that if you can't afford something, you probably shouldn't buy it.

Well, they were the L.A. Chargers before they moved to San Diego.
Still, firing a 14-2 coach is stupid beyond belief......
.........and now, moving to a soccer field..........BRILLIANT!
Wonder if they'll sell out? 27,000 might be too much......
General populace in LA does not always support an NFL game, there were some reasons for Rams and Raiders to leave LA over 23 years ago.
LA area TV black-out of 1-5-1986 New England Patriots/LA Raiders in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, LA Coliseum was not sold out in that particular playoff game. LA appears to be a huge market to NFL but people have too many other things to get along with in LA during a given Sunday.

I don't get it. San Diego is a favorite venue for the Superbowl...Who doesn't love a trip to San Diego. Chargers have such a rich tradition in the league and this is bad for the NFL. Greed and then some. They will be a disaster in L.A.
