The NFL could car less who covers the spread. The NFL makes no money whatsoever from gamblers. You want people to believe you, then you can't tell lies, especially ones that even a fourth grade gambler can see through.

GL though. Vegas is begging big time for some St. Louis money and that's why the line keeps moving. The math is pretty simple here.

Not saying Seattle can't win by 3 TD's  BUT it's tough to bet against a home team dog on MNF. Just my opinion

But give me another example where the line moved 3.5 points especially from 10.5 to 14.  That's different territory my friend. Big money on one side, very small on the other.People will c the line at plus 14 and be like damn I was going to bet hawks but that's to much ill take rams now. No, only a few will bet that way. We already have evidence of the tons of money spent on Seattle minus points via the line movement.  There was NO line movement indicating much money spent on the Rams as you suggest. If your reasoning made sense the bucs would have beat the panthers the vikings would have covered and by some miracle the rams win. No, those are two completely different mutually exclusive events that simply didn't have as much money on the games nor the landslide of money on one side. The evidence doesn't support your argument. Where was the massive line movement in those games?  Oh, that's right there wasn't any or to any significance.  However this is football and young qbs struggle against good defenses. Rams d needs to show up tonight for them to have a chance. It has nothing to do with what's on the field. This is business. The play tonight is hawks or pass. No,  play the Rams +10.5 or better. Betting rams because vegas said so is bad logic.  Remember vegas loses the battle a lot just not the war. I think there are those that want to line their pocket's NOW. You simply don't understand the greed and length of deceit some will go to , to make their gains.  They have millions more games to wager on, ones where public misconceptions make them money. Yes, yes, and that makes money, but how often can they make a killing like tonight? A prime time game where every Tom, person, and Harry will bet Seattle and is evidenced by the pointspread movement of 10.5 to 14.  I faded tje public this week with houston over ru and giants over eagles.. I will not however fade public on this one...its be like taking jax who lost by 30. It's not just fading the public. It's fading the public, when there is evidence of large amounts of money all on one side with evidence of huge line swings.  I see it happening again. Vegas however made some very strong lines next weekend, they will get their money back.

I will not however fade public on this one...its be like taking jax who lost by 30. It's not just fading the public. It's fading the public, when there is evidence of large amounts of money all on one side with evidence of huge line swings.  I see it happening again. Vegas however made some very strong lines next weekend, they will get their money back.

    cropduster,
Your evidence and logic is impenetrable.  The "fly" in the ointment although is the game actually being played.  Due to the unknown variable that is the future, the Seahawks may very well cover the spread.  A last minute pick 6, fumble return, incomplete Ram's pass, or a missed Ram's field goal could cost the cover. You just see (and are probably correct) a greater chance with backing the Rams.

The books have an extremely accurate reading on games, but they are not able to tell the future.  Nobody can.  Therefore, anything could happen.

Nice call, I think the majority just refuse to believe the business side of it. Luckily I had Seattle ML and -1.5 (teaser)!

Cropduster very on point, but, save your breath when your giving out winners.  About 2 percent of people understand what you are saying and get it and the other 98 percent are going to continue to pick obvious garbage to them and be square losers who continue to build Vegas up.  Bottom line.   They will call u paranoid and a conspiracy theorist.  Because nobody can except that's what it is, a big conspiracy to take your hard earned cash!!!!!  Good work

It has nothing to do with Vegas, it has to do with math.

A site posted the math of one of the big favorites losing the game this week.

The public did very well on sunday with the 70% or better's going 4-0,  what are the actual odds of going 5-0, mathmatically the odds are against the public going 5-0 in those games, and that's the real story boys...........................................

    It's simple math.

I'm going to eat some of my words and apologize that I was blinded by the backup qb scenario.  I knew Kellen Clemens was familiar with the Rams offense and that made me pay ( I did not however have as big of a wager on this game 80 in hawks, 220 on packers)

However, The only thing I hate about covers though is that people just post a pick with no evidence backing up reasons why.  For this example, I did not realize both O Tackles were out for the Seahawks.  I knew the Rams D was good but did not realize much about Quinn, who made the Seahawks offense really terrible.  However again, that is my own fault in doing so little handicapping on the game and just playing by "feel".

Again though I apologize for not the greatest sounding logic.  But I did not think this game was a lock, but yeah it seems these are the games where Vegas lays the smacketh down.

That's why we call it gamble. Sometimes we have to go with the feelings. Most bettors love strong team and favor. But at the end of every years. Dogs win more.
