Last night, LJ rushed 16 times, 3 more than Derrick Henry. Was that the game plan coming in? Is that the plan moving forward? You go and pay the guy $250 million guaranteed and then have him run the ball 16 times? Dude is going to turn 28 years old before the end of this season. With as much wear and tear he's already had in 6 seasons, every hit from now on is going to start adding up fast. Especially since he's dropped some weight - he might be even quicker but also less durable? Yeah, a couple of those runs last night were scrambles, but still. A running QB is not going to get you to the promised land in the NFL. Why don't teams realize this? And if they keep running him like this, he'll prolly miss another 4-6 games this season with injuries.
BAL went out and got Henry, but they didn't utilize him last night. How many screen passes did LJ throw to Henry? 1-2? He had 0 catches last night and got only 13 touches. Henry caught 60+ balls over the previous 2 seasons combined, and BAL can't even put him in the flat as a relief valve for LJ every once in awhile?
I smell another 10 win season and a quick exit from the playoffs.

That type of shit is coaching related though. To not know that the nfl would make the O line lining up a point of emphasis and not practice that with your team is horrible coaching. You’re not putting your team in the best position to win.
But the KC linemen looked to be lined up wrong as well and were not getting called for it. If they are going to be this picky it needs to be both ways.

Chiefs defense was definitely gassed late in the game from chasing around Lamar all night.... they likely lose that game if the TD is good as Harbaugh was ready for the 2pts.
Henry had 2 targets just couldn't come down with them. These first games always show preseason rust, this one no different. "Harbaugh lost the team"....overreaction much.

Hard to change who he is...he did this running around at Louisville...ok at the college level but at the pro level you need to understnd the pocket and when to roll out and when to throw it away without taking major hits...ask Peyton Manning and tom Brady about this...
He is a special athlete but we all know that mobile QB's do not last long in the NFL...Lamar has not adapted because his tendencies are to take off and run because this what he is accustomed to and he does quite well at making something out of nothing, but it is over used by him...not sure he can be a complete pocket passer, as is needed in the NFL, because it's just not in him...this is a hard tactic to remove from an individual who has been doing this probably since high school or even younger...it has worked for him, but at the NFL it creeps up on you...just ask Vick and Cunningham...now you can ask Kyle Murray, Josh Allen, Justin Fields, Kordel Stewart and on and on...none of them have a Super Bowl Championship and most likely never will...Wilson was the last to achieve a Championship but he had a good RB to compliment him...
The Ravens need a RB and they simply don't have one...a washed up Henry will not get them what they need to compliment the rest of the team...same with the Cowboys...with all that talent that the Boys have they didn't go out and get a solid RB, instead they brought back greasy Zeke who will not get them where they need to be...
When Lamar takes off running it looks great and keeps a lot of drives alive, and if this is the intention then so be it, but understand that it will never get you to the promise land to win a Championship...and if it does, it's by luck and chance because he stayed healthy not because it's how to win in the NFL....
Lamar still thinks the last play of the game last night was a touchdown even after watching replays of it...that's not very smart

I hope you're right and they do keep running Lamar into the ground. I'm a die hard Steelers fan for life here, born and raised. I despise the Ravens. Can't wait til he gets hurt this year again. Steelers don't have a division game til the 2nd half of the season. Let's hope he's on the sidelines by then. If not, maybe Minkah or Queen can put him there! I saw him lower his shoulder on a run early in the game for no good reason. Lol. It's only a matter of time til he's hurt again!
Banned for using a burning $ emoji. Lol. TRUMP 2024!!!

Totally fair and I think you're right but even if they had it, I think it'd be the same. With today's contracts there is no way to justify the risk and we need to accept that the first couple of weeks serve as preseason.

What's going to happen when they go to a 20 game season and zero exhibition games. The owners are already discussing that. Although, the more imminent future is a 2 game exhibition and 18 games regular season schedule

Anyone else think Justice Hill should get the ball more? He’s quicker and definitely more explosive than Henry imo.
That said, the Ravens did what they had to do last night and played a great game. Stopping KC on offense is nearly impossible and their defense has some of the best players in the league. As a huge critic of Lamar over the years I think he did what he felt he had to do to give his team a chance. And he did. Penalties were a huge factor and a missed kick by Tucker plus the failed 4th down conversion were huge. Not to mention Mahomes catching his own pass that was a guaranteed interception if not. I bet Baltimore last night and would do it again.

BINGO!! You hit the nail right on the head. I'm a Ravens fan and if we don't fix our O-line it's gonna be a tough year, blocking is horrible and all those false starts ???????. And it doesn't help Baltimore was down so they were on catch up mode also, tough to run your RB when you're doing that. But it's only the 1st game, hopefully they get better and make necessary adjustments

My only issue is they basically tied the game. Lamar misses an easy td on a good play call. And then makes the throw but his toe nail was out of bounds. So if they make that and take it to OT or go for 2 and win you wouldn’t be writing this.
Everyone would be asking what’s wrong with KC defense?

Alot of good points have been said. Lamar is a really great player. I just think he tries to do to much on his own. This is what happens when the coaches put to much on your plate. He should be throwing the deep ball a few more times a game. This would take a lot of pressure off of the team and himself.
