Well we started off with a nice little Win Thursday, nothing fancy but just enough to wet our pallet for wk1's NFL Action & I'M PUMPED! I feel good about these picks too, so lets hope my 'senses' are on point to start the season....
Week 1 Picks:
Tennessee +4.5 @ Kansas City
I like what I've seen out of Jake Locker when he's behind center for the Titans & I think this will be his 'breakout' season, barring injury of course. I think the 1-2 duo of Greene/Sankey will be more effective than people think, in this game they'll be able to grind out the game & pickup 3rd downs effectively. Locker's got the weapons at WR too & I think Hunter will be good for a score here, but Kendall Wright will pace the way as the primary go-to WR (similar to how ARod used Jordy n Cobb TNF). KC's defense is still worrisome & they're always a nightmare @ home, which naturally worries me but I think Tennessee's Defense steps up here and shuts down KC's offense. (Laying 2 Units)
Atlanta +3 vs New Orleans
I like Atlanta switching their Defense around, & im excited to see it in place here, I think it'll be effective, especially their blitz packages. Atlanta's backfield is gonna looks WORLDS better than it did lastyr with SJax finally healthy & Devonta Freeman will fit perfectly into this offense. Matty Ice has his 2 weapons back & I love the idea of Roddy lining up in the slot, I think he has 100yds & 1td & I could actually see both WRs scoring. I don't think this is an 'easy' game by any means, but I like the inner-division homedog. (Laying 2 Units)
Tampa Bay -1.5 vs Carolina
I don't have too much for you guys today but this is my favorite pick of the bunch. Carolina's offensive line wasn't that great & it only got worse in the off-season. The news about Cam is irrelevant to me, unless of course he is hurt but im assuming hell be OK. Tampa has improved their O-line with Mankins & my man the Muscle Hampster will have a bounceback season, starting with a wk1 game of over 100 all purpose yards. Mike Evans makes for a nice red-zone target as well. TB wins nicely. (Laying 4 Units)
