I lost a good amount of money on that game. I think the line was Pitt -7, and I had Seattle. That phantom holding call in the 4th quarter, litterally killed Seattle's chances. They could have had the ball at the Pitt 1 yard line, but on the next play the QB throws a pick. Pitt then goes on a drive to score a TD.
Anybody else lose money on that game. Seattle should have covered easily.

Okay so where is the link that shows the ref admitted his error? That is rare in the NFL. The Head of Officiating often trys to smooth things over when a team gets fu%ked but not the ref himself. Look what happened in the MIN vs. NO game... the Head of Officiating said they missed a couple calls and basically said our bad forgive us. BOL!

Yes Seattle was the play, and it was a lock if the refs could just stay out of their own way.
That will sear in my memory as the most obvious example of a "fix" I have ever seen in the NFL. I have been watching all games religiously since the late 70's.
I still don't believe in the fix in the NFL. I don't think it exists. But that game is hard to get by and chalk it up to "bad calls".

The worse thing about the phantom holding call is that on the next play Hasselbeck threw the pick, then got called for a 15 yard low block while tackling the player. I've NEVER heard of that in my life and the sound in the announcers voice you could tell the they knew the zebras were in the Steelers back pockets.
I remember them showing the replays of the phantom hold and the announcers can't figure out where the hold is andthe flag came after the catch.
One other dog shit call is when Willie Parker escapes for the 75 yard TD to start the 3rd quarter and while showing the replays you can see the Pitts O Lineman clearly holding Seattle player, It was like one of the announcers were about to say something and got kicked under the table as not too.
Can anyone answer me this also...Has Big Ben crossed the goaline yet on the 1st touchdown where the ref still thinks the ball broke the plane?

My favorite bullshit of that game was when the Steelers' defensive end lined up a whole foot past the ball, his helmet was closer to Hasselbeck than the Seahawks' player lining up opposite of him.........
..............and then he jumps the snap and rushes the QB a full second before the ball is snapped!!!!!
A flag is thrown.
And it's on Seattle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely crap!!!!!!!!!!

If anybody thinks there isn't such thing as a fix in sports you're pretty naive. That game was the most obvious rigged game in the history of the super bowl
Absolutely pathetic whoever was behind it. Bunch of cowards

The line was 4.5, yea Seattle was the right play in the game.
I lost Seattle in 1st half when Big Ben went air-born and they called it a TD, a FG and I cover, the call was sooo close it could have gone either way and probally not been over-turned by replay, I still have no clue if he scored or not.
And lost with Seattle on the game and a couple of prop point spreads.
Pittt stands today as the only SB winner in the 43 year history of the SB Era to lose the TO battle, lose the time of possesion battle, lose the total yards battle but still win the game.
Needless to say Seattle out-played Pitt.

Also Big Bens QB Passer Rating for the game was by far the worst ever for a SB Winner and one of the worst ever for a SB Loser, could it be more clear who out-played who in the game.

Yeah I see it now. It also broke Yahoo news too. Thanks for the link guys. Again very unusal that he would admit to this. But why now? So many years later? Strange indeed!

nobody mentioned the offensive push off by Seattle's WR in the first quarter in the end zone either, though i could live with that call a lot easier than the others...i'm glad it bothers him, it should
