Sooo much 49ers love and every stat imaginable favoring them so I will take the home dog and the points because when something seems too good...

Well, that depends.  If the Niners were coming off a 45-point performance over a team that most people respected (like Green Bay), and the Falcons were coming off a shaky 2-point win that required a last second field goal to save them from a 20-point blown lead, then maybe the line would top out at -10.  But, if the Niners and the Falcons were both coming off hum-drum wins by identical 24-14 scores, then we'd have no overreaction like we're having this week, and the line would probably be no higher than -7.

So by my reasoning, if the Niners and Falcons had won both of last weekends games by identical 24-14 scores, then the line for this game would probably be San Fran -1 or -1.5.

That's just my opinion.

I don't see anyone giving a valid reason why the Falcons win/cover this game. I can only see a backdoor cover in garbage time.

a running qb does not make it to the super bowl?  Kap can throw better than a lot of starting QBs in this league.  guy is a dual threat not just a runner.

ATL is a fraud.  mike smith is an awful coach.

Agreed Bator. Line is usually based on teams performance the previous week followed by the public lean. In this case SF. At this point based on matchup I don't see why SF will not win. Atlanta has to do so many things better than they did before to with game. Crowd noise to cause false starts will help. But then main thing on defense is to stop QB option. If Atl has to bring there safety in the box to try and stop it good luck containing the passing game. Atl wins if they get +2 in turnover battle. If there are no turnovers in the game. SF wins big.

Then again we see new st!+ happen every week.

Exactly.  Pinny hung a -1 (-120) at halftime of last weeks game until the meltdown occurred.  Reopened at 3 or maybe 3.5.

Exactly.  He is not a run first QB, and that is not how the game plan ever is.  He is an amazing throwing QB in itself.  The fact that he can run just puts him to that next level.  Not many people seem to understand this except me and you.  I expect him to be better than RG3 next year.
