Long time and I do mean long time gambler and Covers user here. Although I quit posting due to childish nature of some posters…anyways… I have to respectfully disagree. I have this conversation with my Nephew, who happens to be a Bills fan and also swears it’s fixed. IT IS NOT FIXED. it is bad refereeing. Period 1. If it was fixed or scripted, don’t you think a retired, fired, or disgruntled ref or a member of his family would have blown the whistle? This would effectively end the NFL. And make it a pro wrestling type of sport. 2. How exactly does this work? Does Godell meet with all refs for all 16 games every week and say, “Ok we are going to let this team win. So push the calls their way. Take the Bills for example. When they came out of the gate as well as they did was their whole season scripted. Did the league push calls their way and then decide to pull the rug out from under them? 3. Taking the refs out of it for a moment, the Bills last two losses were a direct result of poor coaching, and yes some bad calls, but more on that in a second. Against the Pats the Pats threw the ball 3 times…3. I saw no defensive adjustment until late in the game when they finally stacked the box. Agains the Bucs, Bills had zero Carrie’s by running backs in first half. Also never blitzed Brady till 4th quarter. Everyone knows if you put Brady under constant pressure he is not as effective. Getting back to the refs, if you want to stop this nonsense about the games being fixed, here’s a couple of solutions. 1. FULL TIME REFEREES! I have always felt, due to bad refs, that the league should employ full time refs. Not these part time lawyers, and businessmen. Hire full time refs, and during the off season have them hone their craft. Study film, get in shape, learn how to work together. The fact they don’t have full time refs is killing many peoples opinion of the legitimacy of the sport. 2. Add a challenge for each team and make pass interference, defensive holding and personal fouls reviewable. I see a lot of missed calls also. But mainly because the ref is out of @BookBeater Much respect for you and the well thought our post above ..Brother I never said it was " scripted " ,...Strongly believe on average 1-3 games a week are manipulated by the refs ... And yes I think Roger or his shills tell the refs to keep a game close , and or help a side to victory if needed in a game .. ... This goes far beyond my beloved BILLS , I can't believe the NFL puts out all22 for us to see their blatant manipulation....That Steelers vs Bears game was one of the worst cases ...The Roughing the qb on a Tannehill INT in endzone vs the Saints was one of the most shady game changing flags of the season... The Bills coaching staff gets a F grade for in game adjustments...They're lucky the refs allowed Morse and Dawkins to blatantly hold on Singletary runs in the 3rd and 4th or they never would have gotten back into the game ...But when it came down to the BILLS winning at the end of regulation there was no way they were going to let them score a TD ..The egregious non PI on Diggs in the endzone was comedic gold ... I'm all for rules changes , but as the NFL has shown us over the last decade they'll just add more subjective waffling rules that make it easier to manipulate the game ... Great to disagree FAM really appreciate the response..
