I see this one going like this. Roth will have a horrible 1st half leading to a first half cover for the Pats and then will get on the right track in the second half. Pitt covers second half and game with a slight possibility of an upset win.

I doubt the Pats are much motivated by some punk backup DB guaranteeing a victory. But they are motivated by their last two close calls. But they are motivated because they know they are not perfect by any stretch. These last two games and the Indy game revealed that they have some issues and that they are beatable. Their D is only above average, not great and getting old and tired. And they have no running game. They have some success running only because they pass so much. True, they have an awesome passing game, but teams are finding ways to disrupt that. Having said all that, I'm not sure Pitt is ready to win this week, but they might be able to cover. I got Pitt +14.5 in my contest and I think I would still take +11 if I could get it. Weather could slow things down also. But I heard that Troy Palu might be out. That's not good. Lean to Pitt and the points but ML wager might not be a wise thing at this point. So my prediction is that the Pats go 16-0 unless the Giants need to win that last game and the Pats rest players and don't care about the 16-0. Brady said they don't care much that they are 12-0. They've won 22 in a row at one stretch and they've won three Super Bowls. Not sure if they really care about a "perfect" season. If taking the last week off helps them win a third Super Bowl, they will do it. Belichick will take every advantage to win a Super Bowl, even sacrificing a perfect regular season record. Sure, they'd like to have that record and the immortality that comes with it, but they'd rather have a fourth Super Bowl win and then one more to break the Steelers and Niners record of four Super Bowl wins.
