PITTSBURGH -- The Buffalo Bills' Matt Milano suffered
a torn biceps during Tuesday's practice and the starting
linebacker is out indefinitely.

Milano played only five games last season because of
a right leg injury

Milano is among the best coverage linebackers in the league,
and he will be a key absence for this Bills unit.

Since entering the NFL in 2017, he has allowed the lowest yards per target, completion percentage and passer rating as the nearest defender in coverage among linebackers.

Entering his eighth NFL season, Milano's injury is significant for a defense that has new leaders stepping up with the departure of safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde this offseason. In 2021 and 2022, Milano recorded over 86 tackles in each season and over 12 tackles for loss.

Surprising NFL roster cuts:

QB Desmond Ridder, Arizona Cardinals

After a failed stint in Atlanta, it was clear that Ridder wasn't cut out for a starting gig in the NFL, but a backup role was still on the table. At least that's what we thought before the Cardinals cut Ridder and gave the backup role to Clayton Tune.

Why? Who knows? But that decision is certainly puzzling given that Tune didn't show much upside in his limited time as Arizona's starter a season ago. Perhaps his knowledge of the system is what kept him on the team, but Ridder almost certainly is a better backup option.

**Surprises me as well, but I suspect he ends up somewhere as injuries mount...

Steelers going with WILSON.

I wish him well but I feel his best days are behind him.

We should see a lot of FIELDS this season after WILSON falters or gets injured.

  Aiyuk and the Niners on Thursday agreed to terms on a four-year, $120 million contract extension that will keep him in San Francisco through the 2028 season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's the same deal that has been on the table from the 49ers since Aug. 12

The extension includes $76 million guaranteed

So he held out and in the end got the same deal anyway.

Bosa returned Tuesday for his first practice since the injury, wearing a black club around his LEFT hand.
