Saquon Barkley's quest for the NFL's single-season rushing record will end at 205 yards after head coach Nick Sirianni announced that the Eagles will rest key starters in the Week 18 game against the New York Giants.

This is the NFLs own fault, being insistent on stuffing the division games at the back end of the schedule to try and create more big important games has backfired as most of them are either meaningless, have at least one team sitting guys, and then you have two 14-2 teams having to play all out.

Expanding to 18 weeks and an extra wild card and one less bye week has compounded the problem.

It’s tough to consider. Barkley has done something that not many others have ever considered accomplishing. I guess Eagles are planning on winning Super Bowl of course.
