He’s slow as shit (not explosive at all) and runs the most basic rudimentary routes. He’s not the most physical TE by any stretch. He’s 34 years old!! that’s old for a TE.
Im expecting a down year from this dude who’s defied all odds. I can’t make any sense of how he’s always wide open. I just can’t.

Yeah it's probably pretty easy to lead the NFL in TDs and receptions, actually. I mean Justin Jefferson, Jamarr Chase, AJ Brown those guys are pretty mid

Kelce himself credited Reid with making him a HOFer. Those plays where he no one is around him is because of Andy Reid, not Kelce’s outrunning DB’s. Reid is a master play caller, the best there currently is in the game.

2 Words: Patrick Mahomes When you have a QB like Pat Mahomes you don't always have to be open.
It is Mahomes but not because he isn't open but because they throw a lot. Mahomes wouldn't throw to a WR or TE if they were never open. You aren't going to put up those numbers if you say to yourself he is never open but I gotta throw to someone and I figure a TE who isn't open is my best target.
Likely any great WR or TE has a good QB.
You aren't gonna put up elite numbers if your QB sucks no matter who you are.

For as much damage as Kelce does especially in crunch times, it is a wonder to me that he gets so wide open. His rookie time in the 40 is 4.61 and probably slower now. I nevrer know what his defenders are thinking or where they are even at. It is like he suddenly appears on the field from a starship enterprise transporter.
The Sunset Kid drove to the beach at sundown. Watching the sun go down brought him luck.

Travis Kelce was well on his way to a HOF career before Mahomes ever threw a pass in the NFL. Kelce had averaged 975 yards per season over 4 seasons prior to Mahomes becoming the starting QB for the Chiefs in 2018. Mahomes averages yards 8.2 yards per pass attempt when Kelce is on the field, with a 78 QBR. Without Kelce on the field, Mahomes' YPPA drops to 6.9, and his QBR drops to 69.7. If you were a Chiefs fan, and watched every snap of every game, week after week, year after year, I guarantee you that you would not have started this ridiculous thread.

As for Kelce being "slow as shit," the average speed for a Tight End in the NFL is 4.7 sec. in the 40 yard dash. Kelce 's time was 4.61 sec. at his NFL Combine.
