OK, I'm an old fuddy duddy I guess but this is the first year viewing the games is such a pain in the ass. Frist of all. I'm not paying for the YouTube streaming. Direct TV is my provider and for the last few years, they were just giving me the NFL package. I've been a customer since 95, and bought the package most of those years. I'M DONE PAYING FOR NFL. Now CBS was squabbling with CBS so I missed the Vikings game week 1. That's the local team in my area and I'm a Vikings fan. They suck anyway I know but it's pretty sad I need an antenna, to pull in CBS just to watch CBS. Sure glad CBS is back on the air, so now I should be able to watch my team for the rest of the year. Maybe, unless they are on ESPN+. I will NOT ever again pay for that APP. I tried years ago, and it never would work, and after I canceled, they kept charging my card. I had to change my card # and had my CC refund me. ESPN are crooks and I'll never buy an app from them. The games on Prime I can watch, since my wife has a Prime account, but it's not like Direct TV. I can split my screen on Direct TV and when watching the game is way easier to flip around.
Bottom line is with today's technology, its should be super simple for the NFL to have their games viewed by the fans

Bottom line is with today's technology, it should be easier than ever to view the games FOR FREE!! My God, the NFL makes how much money on commercials putting it on Networks FOR FREE!! Now the NFL is letting these companies buy them off and holding the games hostage for money. I believe they ARE HURTING THEIR BRAND!! It was bad enough when they started to put them on cable channels years ago, but now with the streaming options, It's crossed the line!
Ok I'm done, and I know I'm an old curmudgeon.

You're not wrong, however addicts will gladly pay for their high when it was once free...they have no choice now but to pay.
Networks know people will succumb to their disease. Some will boycott altogether, but that is a small amount of people compared to the billions of revenue that will eventually be made once the full transition from free to pay to watch is completed.

I love football, loved playing it, love watching it but if it's not part of my standard cable package, I'm not paying. That being said, I do enjoy going to the local sports bars and watching the games, and of course I spend alot more on beer and chicken wings than the cost of streaming is and that's ok, l need to socialize too, it's like going out to dinner with my girlfriend, all good, it's what we do. Plenty of other things to watch and do at home Amazon prime.

YouTube tv is way cheaper than direct TV . The only reason I had direct TV was because of the nfl package. Once they lost it I canceled and went to YouTube. It's actually really good. U can split the screen 4 ways and unlimited dvr space . U can technically record every game and watch them if that's your thing. 75 bucks a month u should hive it a shot. Now the nfl package was 250 when I bought it but I will say I don't miss direct TV one bit. Not to mention nothing worse when u get a storm and ur shit keeps saying acquiring signal and u miss part of the game.
