This is more than backing Jeff Fisher catching 9 points in a season opener. This is Jeff Fisher catching 9 points with an under the radar team who has some real solid talent on both sides of the ball. Much has been made of the Lions' improvements on defense, but this is still a unit that will struggle and rely on Stafford and the offense to win in shootouts. I almost went over here, but I think the Rams control this game and serve the Lions a healthy dose of Stephen Jackson. Fast forward 6 weeks from now and I think we'll all be talking about what a great start Sam Bradford is having. The schedule sets up nicely for the Rams to start the year 3-3 potentially 4-2 and in either scenario I think Bradford gets out of the gates strong. I normally play (even just a nibble) MLs on all dogs under 10, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

ratherB, tito, Orange - thanks fellas, good luck today
Philadelphia/Cleveland UNDER 43 (10 units to win 9.52)
Leaned to the Eagles here, but week 1 on the road against a solid defense. I'll pass and go low. Following their bye last season, the Browns allowed 3, 13, 10, 24 and 13 points at home. I think the defense will be equally as good if not better than last year. On the other side, I think the Eagles unit will be on of the best in the league. Cleveland starts a rookie QB and a rookie RB and Andy Reid will pressure pressure pressure all afternoon. If you look back to Weeden's collegiate career and find a team that most closely resembles an NFL team, you'd probably go Oklahoma and maybe Texas. Weeden's two lowest QB rating games last year were against Oklahoma and Texas and the year before his lowest was against Texas. Sure, these teams are not NFL caliber, but scary thought when considering who will be coming after him today.

Uconn, theone - thanks guys, good seeing you around.
stickman - Disagree on the talent. Certainly don't have championship talent, but team is better than record has shown. Just need a coach to foster the talent. Not many coaches get more out of nothing than Fisher

Atlanta/Kansas City OVER 42.5 (10 units to win 9.52)
KC played to 7 straight unders last year at home following an over in Week 1. Atlanta has been vocal about their shift in offensive plays to allow Ryan to air it out more than in previous years. With Charles now back and with goal line punch with Hillis, the Chiefs will be an exciting team to watch this year. I think the winner nears 4 TDs with the loser not too far behind
More on the 4:00 EST games a bit later..
