Means next to nothing. Plenty of SB winners were lucky to be there. Most recently, probably being the New Orleans team that beat Peyton Manning.

I know, you are agreeing with my original point. It doesn't matter if Seattle got lucky to be here. That game is over and this game is a fresh start. You can look at it two ways.

- Seattle will lose because they got lucky and shouldn't be here.

- Seattle will win because they played awful and still won.

 

Both really have no outcome on this game. Whichever team shows up and plays better will win

Beyond all of the physical comparisons of these two teams, which seem to cancel each other out, comes the mental edge.  Seattle, recently fulfilled the dream of putting a ring on; New England has Deflategate to thank for the all important "us against the world" mindset.  It gives the Pats just that iota of an edge.
