My advice to you is to do what your parents did, get a job sir. The bums will always lose
Sorry to hear this dude, I feel the same way partially and have felt the same way before. The main lesson I learned and the like you never cross is lending and using credit cards. Once my checking account is low I have no choice but to take time away and not play. it's a very hard habit to break and your best bet is to cold turkey and never look back

We all lost one time or another. Don't do anything stupid. Be honest with your family. Think it through, talk with family, it will get better, because it did for me. The main thing, never gamble what you can't lose. But be honest with your wife, things always get better over time. I'm older now, money not the most important thing in life. Family is and good health in my opinion. Don't be too hard on yourself, your only human and we make mistakes. lt always get better. Good luck to you, work it through, time heals all.

Here's what you should do: Go back and read EVERY SINGLE POST you've ever made on this site about losing your a$$ and quitting. Then read them again. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN!!!! Print them out and post them all over your house - on the bathroom mirror, on the TV, etc... Read them while you're brushing your teeth or drinking coffee or trying to find Family Guy on the TV. Keep reading them over and over and over again until you're actually ready to quit, and then do that. If you have the urge to bet again, go back and read them again. And in between reading all those posts over and over again, get yourself a job man, even if it's at McD's flipping burgers. Force yourself to be productive - gambling isn't productive for you. Own that fact. If you can't own it, go back and re-read all of your posts AGAIN!

Maybe it happened 25 times. Its happens a lot. People go on a winning streak, raise their bets, and end up losing it all. After they are down to zero, they say to themselves that if they just had some discipline and didn't chase, they wouldnt have lost it all and made some profit. Cycle starts all over again until person gets hot again.
I have done it myself. I hit a 80k 10 team parlay in 2021 with $1500 bet. It was gone in next couple days. I raised my bets and said it was all house money. But once I lost a $10,000 bet, I felt the need to chase it back. I lost what I won, initial 1500, and ended up depositing 1000 more, which I lost as well. In 2022 same thing happened, turned 1000 into 35000 over 2 weeks and lost that in couple days.
After that I made a spreadsheet, I kept a record of over 15,000 plays and tried to find the winning formula, using different simulations. I followed mlb, NHL, tennis, football, and basketball.
There is money to be made in this, but people need to realize they will never hit over 52% if they bet everyday. You go on a winning streak and everything will go your way, after that you will go on a losing streak and you will lose in ways that you didn't think was possible. Lot of people will never go above 52% in their lifetime, because they lack discipline and will playing everything. There are ways to hit 60-70% but those plays are situational and don't come around everyday, maybe around 6 times a month, but that's good if you have a big bankroll. Hitting 55% is great also but people always think they can do better and always end up doing worse.

The demons come out after 1 bad loss. Helt bent on making back that loss at any cost, no matter what. That's how they get it all back. Never go tilt mode.

Yep! Same with table games at a casino the longer you play the more that the odds are against you of winning.
In sports betting the more games you play the more your chances of losing is a realm as well.
I am 7-2 posted plays here on covers playing just one or two max plays on a full slate of weekly games . (Just south of 80%,)
When I was posting more than three games a week and upwards of six my winning percentage dropped to 50% at best.
The more you play the more your chances of a having a losing week is a reality no doubt!
I know I know all of you think that your masters at this gambling game because you win a week or two but in the long haul 52% during the season of playing more than three games per week is about right ....and that's if your good.

I remember one from the beginning of the season he did. I took the time to write out a long response with a bunch of the best advice i could give as someone who struggled with heroin addiction for years and is a winning sports bettor with very conservative bankroll management practices. This guy ignored it all and was back the next day saying he put everything he had on the browns because of a dream he had...
Hope he gets help for his addiction and maybe will finally listen to advice

Gambling addiction is only part of your problem. The KEY issue is you need to move far away from Vegas. Use that10K that you're getting in January to move to a state and County that's far from any casino. Make it as difficult as possible for you to gamble.
I suggest getting a small apartment near San Francisco or San Jose BOL.

With basic strategy you have a ~42% chance to win a hand of blackjack. With BJs paying 3:2, you can get the house edge down to ~.5%. So if you bet 100, you'll be expected to lose 50 cents per hand. This is unavoidable over time unless you are card counting and spread betting, in which case you can get the edge. But that's not what's happening here, you've just been very lucky and will eventually start to lose.

@the1toturn2
Odds of landing numbers stay the same, but people increasing their bet size goes up, whether they loss or win. If they lose, they will try to chase and if they win, they will increase their bet size.

You are correct !
Discipline
Knowledge of the game
Money management
Keep a profit and play with the excess
Something that over 90% of gamblers don't have.
